I am planning to buy a HTiB but not sure which one is good and value for money.

Any suggestion.

1) HTiB Pioneer HTZ777DVD - RM1,699

1 UNIT PIONEER VSX-818 DTS/AC3 AV RECEIVER

3) YAMAHA AMP RX-V365 - RM2999 one set
PIONEER SPK MS-500

dun expect too much out of a hitb

As a beginner only.. later on when got time to seriously go into it will get a proper one. At this moment HTiB is the easiest way, buy, install and listen.

if u buy separates & get it all in one shop, it's also buy, install & listen wat.... wat's the diff??

i also started with htib, and just yesterday, i was listening to my old htib, not nice

if mary carey concert then still ok, if mariah carey concert, htib really susah sikit

his is maria carey from philippines wan...

Go for Pioneer TODOROKI RS7 package with amp..since your budget is +/- 3K

RM3K can already get the new wood speakers set with the Pioneer Vsx-819.

yup...FTW....that one a wallop any HTiB

I am a noob in this thing, can you elaborate further what will be inside the full set?

Full set also depends on what pioneer is promoting..

Best is to get a hifi system like DarkNite mention...

For me, most HTiB is for small homes and fussy neighbors

If you are in PJ go to Harvey Norman Sunway Pyramid for a demo. The whole set is on display there. Ask the Pioneer rep to demo it for you. The sub-woofer sound is a bit tricky to calibrate though.

But you must understand this is not the HTiB type but large front speakers type. If you are looking for compact sets , this is not for you.

Any one got any suggestion as currently there is only Pioneer brand.

you really can't go very wrong with the system mentioned...

So go to Harvey Norman this weekend and rate it for yourself against a HTiB

its a CD player, though why its mentioned, i dunno.

DHT 390 is a set with 1 avr,4 small satelite speakers & 1 subwoofer. I tested before but sound look like not so clear.

Mediaplex, midvalley has this model....but their price is high & some complaint cases recntly as used to sell old model set...just b kful

but i heard b4 the yamaha set not bad

I asked the same questions with the same budget here a few months ago. Now I have a Marantz SR6004 and Paradigm 110 CT 5.1 speakers. Their racun here very kaw latt.

Look up my old thread. Think there was some good advice within the budget.

If you get the system that they recommended - Yamaha AVR and the Paradigm 70CT should be within your budget.

But after extensive research and poison, I got the Marantz SR6004(SGD1084) - cause it looks so much nicer than all the other AVR and the Paradigm 110CT(RM2500) - cause they didnt have the 90CT in black . Note that my choices were more for aesthetic reason than actual AQ/PQ reasons. But from what I read, they are a pretty good system that will last quite a while.

Just remember that after a few months, you wont remember the few hundred that you saved but will have something crummy in your living/HT room.

Push your budget as far as you can. At least you wont regret it later.

Bro, Can i know where u get the Paradigm 110CT? It's a good price.

The marantz is in SGD?
Is the Paradigm 110ct better than your intended 90CT, if yes does it justify for the price in comparison between the 09ct with 110ct?

Like I said, got the 110CT because they didnt have the 90ct in black price was justified by colour...

No no... setting up my system. Just got the cables yesterday...

sorry hijack ur thread. May I know ipoh area where got truthworthy av shop can be recommended?I want to find the pioneer HT system (VSX-819HK+S-MS800+SRS3SW) offering by senQ RM3500 quite expensive leh.
I did shop around some av shop in ipoh town but their quote me some unknown speaker set.

nice. think the speaker need some breaking in time. Sounded a little harsh the first few days now sounding more solid.

I got mine from Harvey Norman for RM3400 with 3 years warranty.
