thats called static electricity. it happens to me a lot too, and i dont wear a lot of metal.

static electricity is when your body picks up positive ions and when you touch something that's um..passive? or with negative ions, you create a charge.

it happens mostly in places with dry central airconditioning like the lower level at midvalley. carrefour especially.

do not drag your feet when you walk. most malaysians tend to. the proper way is lay your foot down heel-ball/soles of your feet-toe. this reduces the pick up of positive ions.

also, 9876789 is right. you can discharge by washing your hands.
or go outside and get some fresh air.

i find running my fingers through my hair also helps to discharge.

I felt the same thing sometimes when I get out of the car and touched the car (metal) door to close it.

nothing special.

I suggest you to sometimes spay mist of water using the water spayer used use to iron your shirt. I dont mean you spray until your whole room become wet. Just 2 or 3 press at open space shall be enough. As long as the humidity in your room is at reasonable level, you are not likely to got electrostatic charge accumulate on your body, which in turn cause you have electric shock.

Don't need to wash your hands, just breathe into them (like some some people do if they're cold) -- the moisture in your breath will be enough to stop it. Also I wonder if he unwittingly turned himself into a static electricity rod with that bracelet thing smile.gif

I used to kena static electricity at escalators when I hit the metal thing below the rubber "handle". And when my bulu tangan hit other people's bulu tangan.

Now when I wear a certain material (jersey type) in aircond rooms, the shirt will stick to me. Cool leh?

sometimes this does happen.
in cold shopping malls such as jusco in JB,
i and my cousins sometimes can shock by accidentally rubbing our hands together.

try touching any small metal like tip of ball point pen before you do anything

I also having similar problem. The thing is when ever I touch any metal part of a electrical components I will feel a small jolt of static. I just afraid that this might also be causing to get electrocuted by the lighting during thunderstorm or heavy raining. Is it possible that most of people who had been strike by lighting have this kind of problem?

Once when I was in Form 4 in the Physic class, I was turning on the power switch then I got electrocuted a bit. My teacher and classmate just laugh at me like nothing serious happened. phew.. lucky to be still alive after that shock.

should be only electrostatic. the charge isn't that big. so you won't get electrocuted.

that necklace is interesting - http://www.lightinthebox.com/Japan-Phiten-...18-_p60527.html
