I'm facing a problem of the LCD fading out then it will reset itself, even after changing the battery. Anybody knows what is the cause of problem and how to fix it? It's a Pendulum v5.50

Hello
Well, when I was dismantling the pendulum, I got a lazy man idea, why don't I cut small pieces of paper and stack them together below the battery cap? And guess what, it worked (I did a shake-test at the level of a mad man The problem is, during that process the old soldered speaker wire came off ==== Anyway, I will upload later the picture of the PCB, maybe you all can figure out for a more 'elegant' fix for the fading-->reset problem On top of that, when I bought this pendulum (used of course), the only viewable angle is low, if I view 90 degrees I wouldn't see anything, but it becomes clearer as I lower the angle of viewing. I tried swapping the LCD with an old Digimon version1, but it was not working. Any idea? |

QUOTE(DeinanCF @ Oct 23 2009, 06:12 PM) I opened it and cleaned it with a cotton butt. It had some beach sand i think, it looked like sand + salt in it from the previous owner. But it's fine now that the circuit area's been cleaned. Well I totally forgot about the possibility of the PCB being dirty, maybe I can clean it later and possibly add a thin layer of sponge to make the LCD position 'tight' |
