i get this tips when i go ftcsucess
Paper 10 - Managing Finance Pre examination: Review lecture notes after the end of the course. Rework all questions that were worked during your tuition and/or revision phase. Read, re-read and understand the examiner's articles, as these often form the basis for questions on the exam paper. Practice as many other exam standard questions as possible, including completing course tests/examinations. Examination tips Spend a few minutes of the examination reading the paper and where you have a choice of questions, decide which ones you will do Unless you know exactly how to answer the question, spend some type planning you answer. Stick to the question and tailor your answer to what you are asked Fully explain all your points but be concise. Set out all workings clearly and neatly, and state briefly what you are doing. Don't write out the questions. If you do not understand what a question is asking, state your assumptions. Even if you do not answer precisely in the way the examiner hoped, you should be given some credit, if your assumptions are reasonable. If you get stuck with a question, leave space in your answer book and return to it later. Answering the questions Case studies: to write good case study, first identify the area in which there is a problem, outline the main principles/theories you are going to use to answer the questions, and then apply the principles/theories to the case. Include relevant points only and then reach the conclusion ans. If asked for. Recommendations. If you can, compare the facts to real-life examples - this may gain you additional marks in the exam. Essay questions: make a quick plan in your answer book and under each main point list all the relevant facts you can think of. Then write out your answer developing each point fully. Your essay should have a clear structure; it should contain a brief introduction, a main section and a conclusion. Be concise. It is better to write a little about a lot of different points than a great deal about one or two points. Computations: it is essential to include all your workings in your answer. Many computational questions require the use of a standard format: company profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow statement for example. Be sure you know these formats throughout before the examination and use the layout that you see in the answers given in the book and in model answers. If you are asked to comment or make recommendations on a computation, you must do so. There are important marks to be gained here. Even if your computation contains mistakes, you may still gain marks if your reasoning is correct. Reports, memos and other documents: some questions ask you to present your answer in the form of a report or a memo or other document. Use the correct format - there could be easy marks to gain here. |
