Greetings Gary.

I wouldn't comment much from 2.1 or 2.2MYS papers, but I believe for 2.3 it would be advisable to either attend Mr. Choong Kwai Fatt's class at Systematic KL, or his ex-student Simon's class at Sunway.

IMO CKF's Class would be significantly easier for students to absorb the contents of the syllabus.

Just my 2cents.

Haha, great job, coolly.. Look like u r the 'magnet' here to answer everyone's problems ya.. Btw, are you acca member or acca affiliate...?? or ady fellow acca (FCCA)..?? Haha..

I actly got some problem which i dun think it discussed b4 in this forum.. I understand ACCA and CAT is professional course which totally diff from other courses from uni.. But, does msia government recognise CAT as diploma level..?? I faced such difficulty few times in filling up some form, saying my CAT should be under 'diploma' level or 'certificate' level or 'foundation' level..?? Just curious to know, can a CAT holder apply to pursue his study in degree from normal uni..??

Does anyone here know any financial assisstance to finance my ACCA study..?? Any loan/scholarship/grant..?? Normally scholarships only invite those accountancy undergraduate degree from uni.. If Im not mistaken, even PTPTN does not offer loan for CAT/ACCA as not categoriz under diploma/degree level wo..

thanx guys...i luv tis site

u meant 6months to finish 9papers..?? u really did so..?? possible also since T1-T4 can be taken cbe at any time and easy to pass too.. but, IMO, such shortcut way is strongly not advisable for fresh spm student.. Although I achieved 9 1A's in spm, but i believe CAT and ACCA part 2 is the time for you to build up a strong foundation for ur accountancy.. you may accelerate to ACCA part 3 in one and half year time, but may end up suffering at the end also.. I chose to score as high as possible at each papers rather than a 'pass'.. ACCA is ady very fast route to get a degree, need not to rush for time anymore..

wah cooly thanks for the reply. I thought of sitting early because Sept CAT intake is actually 1 year 3 months I was told. The course is from Sept2006 to Dec2007 because the exam is on December.

Saves alot more time If i can complete it from Sept 2006 to June 07. Is it too late to register for the Dec 2006 exam already? CAT..
*
CAT is much easier compare to ACCA, so passing is in nine months is not really a porblem.. but make sure u build up a strong foundation/basic of accounting in CAT.. It will helps u alot in ur ACCA later..

Btw, sept intake..?? Are you from SPM 05..?? Wat took u so long to register for CAT after ur SPM, while now u rushing wanna get thru CAT in nine months..??

It is recommendable for me to pay my exam fees on- line by using credit card ??
Any documents to prove my payment by on line.
*
ERm, ya, sure.. I would like to use also if i have one... I tried once, advantages:
1. convenient (just online click click rather than bank draft need go bank buy n then post it)
2. hehe, can save few more ringgit of bank admin charge n postal fees...
Conclusion, online payment save time and money... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

If im not mistaken, once u made ur payment online, u can print out the resit as the prove of payment...

i'm a CAT student in ksa nw . and i'd like to ask a ques here .

i've registered as a member of ACCA in JULY . but till nw , i havent received my registration pack . but i did receive the student accountant from ACCA . i asked the staff at my coll bout the registration card , they just asked me to make a call to ACCA .

i've called the ACCA office for a few times just nw , but it kept saying that the line was busy , and blablabla . so what can i do ? anyone experienced this b4? we cant sit for the exam if we dont hv membercard, is it ?
*
First, u r registering urself as ACCA techinician (CAT) student, not as member of ACCA. A member of ACCA means u pass all ur ACCA papers with at least 3years working experience...

I have a fren who faced same problem last time.. 3 steps on wat he did:
1) The coll (IPG) helped him to write an e-mail to ACCA.
2) He himself e-mail to ACCA as well..
3) Phone ACCA office in KL..
He was, too, very worried at that time, keep on phone, email, phone n email ACCA... End up few days later, he received two registration pack... Haha... sweat.gif sweat.gif

Bout the phone calling prob, i alwayz call up ACCA to ask this and that, their line is always available, never got line busy or blablabla as u said... Haha, mayb u r the unlucky one... or u phoned at non-office hour, my fren..?? U sure u got the correct nu, 03-27135051..?? Well, if u still experiencing such problem, u may directly go to ACCA office and get ur stuff settled..

Anyway, need not to worry so much.. My fren who got his student card late, even can go for his CBE exam without the student card as the coll has the details of him..

QUOTE(hikari @ Sep 12 2006, 11:19 PM)
talking bout commercial vs audit.. think bout this.. in audit.. it's easier for u to climb up the "corporate ladder".. within 5 years.. u are already a manager.. then u can quit ur job and become another manager in commercial world...and with the portfolio u have, it's easy to get a high profile job...

by starting off in commercial world, in 5 yrs time.. most probably u'll start as a accounts exec and end up at accountant level? (mind u, accountant level in commercial is not very high position in big companies.. they have so many accountants).. how long will it take u to be a manager in commercial world? u'll have to wait until there's a vacancy.. probably when someone got promoted? when someone died? etc etc?.. most of the time it'll take u more than 5 yrs to reach managerial level.

however, it's about how much u r willing to sacrifice for ur futuree.. u want a peaceful life then commercial isgood enough.. if u want to achieve something in ur life.. auditing can pave a shortcut for u..

END OF STORY.  tongue.gif

Thanx alot for ur sharing.. So, most of the forumers here working in audit firm, xpecially big4 also ya..?? We need bout 5years to climb up to managerial position..?? Erm, i tot with ACCA qualification, 3 or 4years would be enuf.. Huh, how to stand such misserable life for 5years..??

Anybody here working in commercial line would like to share his/her life as an accountant..??
