i want to know how to go to baitumal and mara if by public transport?
*
mara is the one at shamelin is it? cheras there right?

u can take STAR lrt to pandan jaya station... then cross the river (dun worry, no need to swim, got bridge 1), then u can walk to the bus stop.. when u r at the bus stop, look to ur right.. there should be a bridge(very big one, for cars to cross the river tongue.gif ) .. walk towards that direction and u'll see GMI (German Malaysian Institute).. u'll see a traffic light, Mara is just at the junction..

the journey should take less than 5 mins of walk from the lrt station. smile.gif

Hmm i really am amazed by the situation that has changed. Maybe results do play a role as well in determining your wages. Mine was averagely high to be honest.

And jus to really do clear up things, the RM1,800 is actually basic pay and not inclusive of transport and meal allowance. The thing is you will do really alot of traveling (1 to 2times a week). OT claim is always separate from basic thus, never included.

Neway, EY starting pays maybe quite low. But their salary increment is one of the highest among the Big 4 IIRC. As for DKC (Delloite Kasim Chan), their pretty understaffed and the workload may seem very heavy for beginners. PwC, well to be honest, if you're not a book prize winner or a distinction student, you dont have to bother looking at it doh.gif

I have frens working in medium firms as well (BDO Binder, Robert Teo (RSM), Parker Randall) and yeah their salary is bit lower than the Big 4 but only at a margin of bout RM100-200.

Cheers

in my firm, results doesn't really play a role in determining ur wages, bcos it's all fixed .. at the beginning..ACCA affliate get same pay with the degree holders.. then later on performance will kick in and the one who performed better will get slightly higher increment and bonus.. my salary is above 2k exclusive of travelling allowance which if i work in damansara or somewhere far from my office, it'll be able to cover my car installment as well as petrol.. good eh tongue.gif

i disagree with the PwC comment, u do not have to be a book prize winner or distinction student to get in.. there are plenty of weak people in there.. some with even poor english tongue.gif just try.. u might be able to get in =)

P/S. i'm certainly not a distinction student and not a prize winner..

p.s. CA = Chartered Accountant. We are all certified accountant when we graduate from ACCA but not Chartered. Hence Association of Chartered and Certified Accountant.

Well depends from firm to firm. My previous firm was similar to yours. But in commercial line for fresh graduate it does.  Well, good for you that you got in. I heard many things bout PwC especially their recruitement process which i do not wish to disclose.  I can say that with my current standards, i still wont be looking at PwC to work at sweat.gif.

To be more precise is 3 yrs in public practice which relates to either accounting/auditing. IIRC, if you're in advisory i dont think you be confered a CA.

I heard the graduation is really expensive but the membership fees when you become a Member is worst sweat.gif. My fren has to fork out RM1,300+ pa for the membership fees shocking.gif

Cheers

well i do agree that commercial line does appreciate professional qualification (ACCA etc) more compared to degree.. u do not wish to disclose in public? maybe can disclose to me tru pm? lol.. i really would want to know what are the "dark secrets".. actually in my opinion, P isnt really a great place to be.... there are better place out there i believe.. so dont worry if u guys are not part of it..

hmm public practice.. ok.. i dunno.. i only know i'll get CA after 3 yrs..

the graduation is a money sucking mechanism.. just like wedding.. everything is more expensive.. and about membership fees, most firm sponsor that and most firm will pay u higher once u r a member, i.e. QUALIFIED.. my firm pay a significantly higher amount of pay if we are members..

oh no higher pay gua? then ma very sad? :'(

in terms of prestige for graduation ceremony, PWTC>Shangri-la>Crowne Plaza Mutiara.. lol.. in my opinion la

if we have a or more years experience in advisory but not graduate yet.  will these big firms accept us??

intend to do audit again after exam. dont know can get into these firms.  if not have  to go back small firm.

Erm can i know what is the important area of 3.2 and 3.3. Thanks
*
hi nv take 3.3 .. so cannot help u.. but 3.2 syllabus is very wide.. very hard to tell u where to focus on unless u want to rely on tips.. u have to read student accountant.. usually there's a sure question based on the article which is printed.. u have to be overall good in 3.2 syllabus area in terms of understanding and application.. maybe do more questions helps..
