Hmm i really am amazed by the situation that has changed. Maybe results do play a role as well in determining your wages. Mine was averagely high to be honest.
And jus to really do clear up things, the RM1,800 is actually basic pay and not inclusive of transport and meal allowance. The thing is you will do really alot of traveling (1 to 2times a week). OT claim is always separate from basic thus, never included.
Neway, EY starting pays maybe quite low. But their salary increment is one of the highest among the Big 4 IIRC. As for DKC (Delloite Kasim Chan), their pretty understaffed and the workload may seem very heavy for beginners. PwC, well to be honest, if you're not a book prize winner or a distinction student, you dont have to bother looking at it

I have frens working in medium firms as well (BDO Binder, Robert Teo (RSM), Parker Randall) and yeah their salary is bit lower than the Big 4 but only at a margin of bout RM100-200.

in my firm, results doesn't really play a role in determining ur wages, bcos it's all fixed .. at the beginning..ACCA affliate get same pay with the degree holders.. then later on performance will kick in and the one who performed better will get slightly higher increment and bonus.. my salary is above 2k exclusive of travelling allowance which if i work in damansara or somewhere far from my office, it'll be able to cover my car installment as well as petrol.. good eh

i disagree with the PwC comment, u do not have to be a book prize winner or distinction student to get in.. there are plenty of weak people in there.. some with even poor english

just try.. u might be able to get in =)
P/S. i'm certainly not a distinction student and not a prize winner..

p.s. CA = Chartered Accountant. We are all certified accountant when we graduate from ACCA but not Chartered. Hence
Association of Chartered and Certified Accountant.
