I'm having similar problems as tonyqcc. My laptop is a 3 years++ Fujitsu S2110. Few months prior I noticed that my laptop seemed to make alot of noise but infrequently. After a few incidents the noise disappeared so I thought it was ok (I'm computer noobie).

But recently I noticed my laptop's fan failed to initialize during startup (like 7 out of 10 times). The message is something about fan error or something like that. However it can still run smoothly without much problem.

I'm thinking of changing the fan asap but I'm not sure which fan model is it and if it's available now, since my laptop is quite an old model. If anyone knows where I can get the parts and the price, please do let me know. I hope that my laptop will burn before I change the fan =)
