ya no doubt the X1 spec is not bad, but the phone quality failed a lot of people.

keyboard problem is keys are either not register or double/triple register while u typing, in other words, the keys is not response well. makes u difficult to type. Ribbon problem im not sure, maybe is broken or loose. I really don't M'sia had changed the case to prevent the cracking or not. Maybe u can call to Customer Service. Ya no doubt the price cheap compare with the same spec devices, but it is because of the issues stated above, makes X1 price dropped so much. I think you also notice there are many people selling just few months old X1, with super low price. Based on X1 user on XDA forum, they keyboard problem is caused by the dust entered into the keyboard. So after you changed a new keyboard after few months the problem might come back again. But your phone warranty is valid for 1 years only. Unless u plan to change new phone after a year.

I just share what i know with you, and ofcoz there are things which i don't know. If im wrong please correct me.

How are the experience of the users in this thread? Anyone face this problem often or is it mainly just confined to certain batches of phone?

if the problem is really that bad, then sad lo dunno what phone to get de xD

my phone production date is 09W26, i only having the keyboard problem so far. Because of my whole phone body is applied skin protector, so don't have any cracking so far. Ribbon cable still working well. What really disappointed me is the keyboard issue. Keyboard is one of the main reason i choose X1 over other devices, but it failed me...

your keyboard cannot be fixed?

can be fix. but mine is AP set, and I have no time to send it to fix. Will find one day to go to the customer server center.

They changed the design for those who went for RMA if I'm not mistaken, not new units.

For keyboard problem, just search keyboard in this thread and you should know the problem.
Ribbon problem is when you slide out the keyboard,the screen goes blank. This is caused by a short in the ribbon, some people are having difficulty to RMA for this.

Device that matches X1? Maybe Touch Pro, the problem is just the screen resolution. TP2 is way more expensive.

I personally have the keyboard and crack problem. My crack problem appeared much later than others, but keyboard problem much earlier.

And when u meant by ppl having hard time to get RMA for ribbon, u meant ppl with original sets? Thorus/avaxx sets?

I didn't fix it, using on-screen keyboard now

For the ribbon, they are original sets but they're overseas so I'm not sure which company.

Any experience of malaysian original x1 users getting their ribbon / case fixed for free?

If this 3 major problems (ribbon, keyboard, case crack) cant be fixed by original company, then kinda beats the point of getting ori de rite .

i am keyboard + ribbon problem user! yeay!

main purpose why i want to get the x1 is because of the keyboard =.=
if either 1 problem happen, then beats the point of getting the x1 already

yet the closest competitior in terms of function and price is the touch pro, which isnt as good as it spec wise

Case crack: Overseas people successfully claim warranty. In Malaysia, I'm not sure. But one of our forummer was rejected, he lives in Sarawak.

Keyboard: Overseas people also successfully claim warranty. In Malaysia, don't know.

Ribbon: Overseas people having difficulty to claim warranty. In Malaysia, not common yet so I also don't know.
