Just wondering whether do you include your own residence market value (fully owned, no outstanding loan) as a part of your net worth?

Consider the market value of your residence, and if there is an outstanding bank mortgage, just deduct that portion off.

You must be at senior management level in banking at the very least.

I think the finance sector is still one of the better paying economic sector. Epf employer contribution also tend to be higher (like 15-16%). But it can be back breaking work esp at middle management nowadays.

I plan to work until 55 and then call it quits. Contemplated of doing it earlier, but so far can still tahan. Personal financial target is to get the financial assets number above RM5m.

N yeah, Im sandwich generation, funding my own child and ailing parents who have little in way of retirement funds. A lot of compromises. One of the thing which drive me to accumulate is so that i dont financially burden my son and society in general in my twilight years.
Not really senior management.  Thats division head level. Im at dpt head level, of a small dpt. I guess Im like a branch manager level if Im in consumer banking.

Im a bit thrifty tho, just B class car n no designer watches etc. But since the kid is sorted out n retirement funds is on track, my life style is more yolo (single guy maa 😆).

Not having a spouse also helps, that's a real money pit grin.gif

I used to think like Ramjade as well ... but I'm not more aligned with your philosophy, especially since I don't have that many days left to enjoy that which I've painstakingly built up over the decades. If not now, when?

At your age, you should be planning on how to spend it, buying experiences, holidays and having all the best things in life (which I have no doubt you already have most of, that the rest of us can only dream of biggrin.gif )
No point investing and accumulating too much excessive wealth which one can't carry forward to the next life.

All the best, doc notworthy.gif

Give the rebates via reduced income tax. Float the Ron95 price for everyone.

Unfortunately most young Malaysians dont even have rm10K in cash savings. To attain 100K is already a huge mountain to climb.

Hence the number of 1xxK people have more than 1m seems a tad too low. There should be many mid level executives should be pulling easily 20k pm onward.

Everytime EPF release the contributors stat, I’m like can’t be so few….
*
These many mid level execs making 20K...probably have undeclared income, that explains why the EPF contributors stats don't reflect high figures.

When you calculate your total nett worth, does it include the value of the primary residence that you live in ?
