ping is basically the heartbeat of your connection. it means the the amount of time required for the server to respond to your request. the lower is obviously better. if the ping goes above 300++ you'll notice that your hero is less responsive

had a horrid time with HoN y'day, i think dotards has invaded it... think it started after they decided to announce the game publicy, sad...
