This small update contains the following fixes:

Fixed the problem with cursor jumping when replying/retweeting a tweet containing hash-tags
Warning when tryingto send a tweet over 140 chrs after Twitter API stopped supporting this function
Fixed some backend issues with update procedure

The only changes in this release are as follows:

Adobe AIR update affecting TweetDeck

It appears that a recent update to Adobe AIR (on 5th/6th October) has affected the operation of TweetDeck for some people, with screen corruption and malformed screen elements being a symptom.

We need to know as much information as possible, including: Operating System, TweetDeck Version, a full description of what is happening and when it started, and screenshots to demonstrate the problem.

Please install the new build v0.35.2 that is attached to this post, which should fix this issue. Please test by re-adding your Facebook column if you removed it, and try to access all features that were previously affected. Note that this is the non-streaming version.

Desktop TweetDeck has been updated in both the normal and User Streams iteration.

These new versions now support Promoted Tweets and Promoted Trends. Promoted items will NOT be inserted into your main feeds. Promoted Tweets will only appear on search columns that match the promoted keyword. Promoted trends will only appear in the Trending Topics column. This behaviour is exactly as seen on Twitter.com.

There is only one other change in these builds:
FIXED: mailto: links sometimes fail when using Outlook as mail client

Back in July, Twitter enabled testing of a new way for third party clients to access the service in true real-time. This User Streams API allowed instant delivery of tweets, as opposed to the old API which relied on clients regularly checking for new tweets every few minutes.

To coincide with this launch we introduced a new version of TweetDeck that offered Twitter streams in awesome real-time. Recently, Twitter made the User Streams API fully live, at which point we removed the whitelist from our User Streams TweetDeck version and made it downloadable without having to signup.

Today we are completing the process by finally combining the User Streams Preview version of TweetDeck and the "original" version, to make one consolidated app that can switch between streaming and non-streaming at the flick of a switch.

Once you install v0.36, you will be automatically using real-time streaming for Twitter. In this way you can experience first-hand what it means to use TweetDeck in true real-time.

If, however, you dont feel like you can cope with the high-octane, utlimate Twitter experience, then you can easily go back to non-real-time Twitter streams by navigating to Settings > Twitter and unchecking the Enable realtime Twitter streaming checkbox.

With real-time streaming disabled, your TweetDeck will operate just as it previously did. If you change your mind and want to re-enable streaming, just turn this setting back on and your updates will start flowing at top speed once again.

Although bringing User Streams into the main app is, in itself, a very cool feature, there is also a very important change in v0.36 that makes this a vital upgrade for everyone.

Twitter is switching to a new way of assigning unique identifiers to each tweet in it's database. This new method, dubbed "Snowflake", has forced us to make some fundamental changes behind the scenes in TweetDeck.

The result of all this techno-jiggery-pokery is that you *must* update to at least v0.36 urgently. If you have not upgraded before 24th November then your TweetDeck will start going very wrong.

TweetDeck v0.36 available now - Consolidates Streaming & Non-Streaming

This version replaces both the normal desktop (v0.35.3) and User Streams Preview (0.35.3.1) versions of TweetDeck with one consolidated version.
