The latest copy of the Dengeki Kanzume insert in Dengeki Bunko books has confirmed on Tuesday that an anime adaptation of Tsukasa Kōzuki's Ladies versus Butlers! (Redi x Bato) light novel series has been green-lit. The school romantic comedy revolves around Akiharu Hino (Kazuyuki Okitsu), an ordinary high school student who unfortunately looks like a juvenile delinquent. He enrolls into an academy that was once a school for upper-class ladies, and he is placed in the school's newly established servant training department. The students there are raised to be either maids or butlers, and Akiharu finds himself in the middle of the bickering cliques.
Kōzuki published the first novel volume in September of 2006, and the ninth volume is shipping this month. Nekomaru Nekoyashiki has been drawing a manga adaptation in ASCII MediaWorks' Dengeki Moeoh magazine since last year, and there are also drama CDs.
A preview site is already online for the anime project. Atsushi Ootsuki (Kanokon, Kanokon ~Manatsu no Daishanikusai~) is directing the animators at the Xebec studio with scripts supervised by Tsuyoshi Tamai (Inukami!, Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, Strike Witches). Akio Takami (Kanokon, Steam Detectives) is designing the characters based on Munyū's novel illustrations. The anime has the same voice cast as the previous drama CD releases: Ayako Kawasumi as Tomomi Saikyō, Mai Nakahara as Serunia Iori Frameheart, Ami Koshimizu as Sanae Shikikagami, Rie Kugimiya as Kaoru Daichi, Mai Goto as Pina Suforumukuran Esutō, Rina Hidaka as Mimina Ōsawa, Mariya Ise as Kaede Tenjōji, and Kumi Sakuma as Mikan.
Were butlers and maids even a part of their culture?
On another POV, obsessed or not, I have no comment on that. Or maybe I'm too tolerant that I don't care what they want to give viewers anymore as long as I want to watch it.

The AT-X channel has tentatively scheduled a Ladies versus Butlers! (Redi x Bato) special program on December 29, about one week before the official anime series premiere in January. The special will feature a special advance screening of the first anime episode. AT-X hints that the remainder of the hour timeslot will be devoted to a roundtable discussion between the voice cast members.

Got to the first episode just a while back. It turns out to be much more interesting than what I had expected, but since I smell Kanokon's staff in this series, fanservice is pretty much a sure-hit predictions.
But damn they just made the main guy look better than what the original character designer made him to be...

The setting is like this anime comes from eroge but there is its manga around. The anime artwork looks like Kanokon and the hero is 'blessed' with bad luck [ecchi luck] which sounds cliche for a fanservice anime. I'll watch for first few ep and somehow I think I'll drop this anime after 4-5 ep.
