yes at penang i thinkk.. but for me why i will choose d3000? cause its newer. but still, i think better u go feel it urself and compare. just to be fair 

try both then u'll see and knw what u want.. but remember, d3000 don't have build in motor so u gotta buy lens that have motor.

i would prefer that u save a bit more for d5000 which is better. still.. choose wisely. u'll love it and get addicted.. then we can poison u and give u more lens poison.. 

hmm..if u shoot a lot low light,u nid to look for something like 50mm 1.8(f 1.8),but if u get d90, it's recommend that u get the 50mm...otherwise if u getting D3000 or D5000,u are not recommend because the lens cant auto focus on this series of body...18-105 is a all rounder lens...but depend,some ppl dont nid it...so they just bought D90 body and the 50mm lens...
hmm...i tot u saw garage sale selling ard 1.9k?? try nego with that shop to get around that price(if u wan cheaper)...=) but D3000 kit is mostly around that price...if u ok with the price,u can just go n grab one..

err I normally check the outside and inside..

example check for LCD either had dead pixel, Lens function running fine, camera fucntion 100% perfect. Outlook 100% perfect and even smell new!

Not mistaken new DSLR u will able to set time, gmt, language and etc..

Test take few photo with flash, AF, etc..

I also Check for fungus, scratch and dust as well..

Check all accessories  and all thing before leaving..

have u determine which brand to buy or range...
