i just have a nikon d5000 and i'm totally newbie

i plan to take pics in putrajaya (buildings/bridges)
i'm using standard d5000 (newbie here) can u guys recommend me the suitable manual setting i will play the setting later but need some basic guidance first as i'm clueless |

guys..for manual mode
if i want to take outdoor pic in sunny day how to avoid the face from become dark? without flash is it possible? because when use flash(built in).u the skin will look oily. increase iso? or play around with aperture? lol ps: i'm newbie |

sorry for interrupting
now everytime i snap pics it will save in folder 101d5000 instead of folder 100d5000 when i tried adjusting Active folder in Shooting menu i can only select D5000. i want it to continue in folder 100d5000. how? |
