user posted image

September 3rd 2009 - Today at a business update meeting, Sony Ericsson showed the new Xperia™ Pureness, a simple design phone which brings together beautiful craftsmanship and the concept of “talk, text, time - a holiday from technology”. The Xperia™ Pureness will be officially launched in November 2009 through selected retail distribution channels in key cities around the world.

The handset was shown to media attending an event to launch Sony Ericsson’s new brand direction where the company also confirmed its alignment under the Sony make.believe brand message.

Xperia™ Pureness approaches the mobile phone as a work of art rather than technology. The company’s designers aimed to sculpt an object of design that reflected the purity of water and a sense of calmness when not in use.

More details on Xperia™ Pureness will be available when the phone launches in November 2009

Haha. Full spec yet to be released and bear in mind the only hi tech part about it is its display, it's not specs driven but aesthetics driven as SE's press release describes. It's too stylish to put a blind eye on . It's really, really sexy and I 'm going to get it as my second phone drool.gif

if not mistaken LG gonna do one nicer. whole thing is like the display.

Maybe, but till they actually release it, this will be the star of the day rclxms.gif A nice change to see SE starting to get innovative again. Yes, no camera, gps, wifi, bla bla bla, just the bare basics for a design phone. For the tech stuff, you have
Satio, Aino and X2 next month. It wouldn't be smart for SE to release this as a high end device in November while they already released a few in October no?

*edit*
Dude, you sure about the LG fully transparent phone? Googled it all over and found nothing rclxub.gif

If we look at it as face value, probably you'll think of it as a waste, but imagine the kind of technology it's paving for tomorrow. Perhaps no physical display at all in the future which will be space saving and less issues with broken LCD etc. Just like when Ericsson first came up with MCA-10 black and white camera attachment which was pretty much useless and expensive, but it paved the way for Nokia, Samsung, iPhone etc till today we have built-in 1,2,3,5,8 to 12mp shooters. And with the first HPM-10 MP3 player attachment which captured people's imagination in mobile music till we now have a whole new breed of music phones from all OEMs. But I can see why people are having a hard time understanding such a design statement. Perhaps we should just celebrate the kind of diversity and uniqueness it is contributing to the mobile market eh? brows.gif

I guess it really is extremely hard for some of us to grasp an understanding of the phone's purpose icon_question.gif

what so big deal of this hp ah?

It's a minimalist device, a handphone at its purest. Sometimes you need a basic understanding of art to appreciate the aesthetics. If you still don't see anything, probably it's time you take art class? Then buy the phone- gonna cost you a bomb mate! laugh.gif
