hi,

i got a weird problem here. currently running windows 7 ultimate 7600 X64.

i tried few OC settings around.

as long as my FSB stick with 300, ram multiplier 2.66. which in turn my ram will be at 800Mhz. then my graphic will running stable n no problem.

but once my OC my ram to 851mhz or anything over 800mhz. once im in windows, my graphic driver will keep on crashed until the whole windows hung. display still got, but without AERO and whole screen hung there. must power off it. (319 x 2.66)

but if my FSB is 300, ram multiplier 2.66. i can OC my E5300 to 3.6ghz or higher. without any problem.

Since my integrated graphic is sharing ram with system ram. is that the issue that crashing my graphic driver?

but in this case, i wont be able to OC my ram currently?

the ram might be giving out wrong values which cause the driver to crash perhaps?

1. increase ram voltage.
2. increase ram air flow

god bless your rig. lol

first question is should i keep my RAM stock, or continue OC my ram then?

if OC ram isnt related to graphic at all, then i can go ahead. but then my annoying graphic driver will continue crashing the whole system down. the only way to solve is to get a dedicated / discrete graphic card instead?

anyone got similar system problem? or mayb overclock on any integrated graphic AMD system or Intel? or this is juz specific to 4500HD?

It could be that your ram is not oc stable. Have u ever run memtest to verify its stability? Maybe it's not even the IGP issue in the 1st place

my friend do have the same model clock 870 and above b4. i even clock a little over 800, like 8200mhz it still do crash. but not as frequent as 850mhz.

that isnt value ram and is gaming ram, should be ok wan. i tried to run it at 860mhz, it crashed like hell...

caz, it doesnt caz any unstable to windows.. but juz to graphic driver.

u have to know one thing, having shared video memory means that the RAM has to act as stable as a graphic memory. so it's obvious that when every time u run games or any thing that renders graphic, the graphic memory will be used to the max. slight instability will lead to system crash. I suggest that u go download memtest and test out the oc'ed ram stability. and FYI, not all pc hardwares are made equally. u may well have got the bad batch... but that's for you to find out.

btw, did u raise your vdimm for the ram oc?

i will try that later if i have any blank disc then. n i do increase the vdimm. but not much. havnt try 2.0v yet.

so, in conclusion is. ram instability on slight OC is causing my graphic driver to crash rite?

yes, so basically u should test your oc stability before u start accusing the IGP as the fault bringer.

try memtest, prime95, linx to test your system stability. u really have to know what ur doing.

hmm, i think i found the problem root.

i was trying different settings just now. it seems like my northbridge FSB cant be too high. anything using lower than 300 fsb, graphic works. no matter how i OC my ram..

now running 286x3 for ram, 286x11 for cpu. isnt wrong. ram running 860mhz now. the graphic isnt any problem at all.
