Use 3.5mm to RCA (Male).
About your laptop. Is there any optical output? If don't have no choice but to buy an external USB sound card. Buy cheap one enough lor.

No.. not enough, i thought you were talking about your PC. Sorry dude, must use optical/coaxial output. So the best way is to buy an external USB sound card.

As long as you have digital connection (optical or coaxial) on your PC and a receiver (most receiver can support DTS), that's it, you can enjoy 5.1 DTS already. Buy cikai/capalang/capayam sound card also enough lor because it gonna be your receiver that does the decoding. All you need is digital connection on your PC. But the setting in the Windows is abit tricky for a beginner.

i think you don't need a usb soundcard for this if your laptop has SPDIF output. Just need to get the right cable. Hows the output connection from the laptop to enable spdif? if it's a 3.5mm...i think u just find a 3.5mm (mono) to coaxial cable. The 3.5mm will go to laptop, the other end coaxial will go to amp's coaxial input. Set up both to allow spdif...use a PCM, DD or DTS source, u shud get discrete sound from your amp and speakers... used to do this on an old laptop a few years back...it worked ok
