I still remember when in primary school, friends used to tease me about my slowness when eating in canteen. they said thats why i'm been skinny because i eat slowly. just couple days ago, i heard it again from my friend. is it true that when you eat whether slow or fast will affect your digestion process?

If you eat too quickly, you'll get cancer.

If you eat too slowly, you'll also get cancer!

I didn't want to scare the TS but since you said it, if you eat too slow, your intestines get clogged up, if you eat too fast usually, you'll burst your intestines because of the pressure and you'll see food splurting out your abdominopelvic regions....

Eating fast or slow doesn't matter, the thing is how fast can you chew as it is how you chew that makes the difference.

If you chew better before swallowing the food it will be easier for your digestive system to digest the food.

If you swallow without properly chewing the food, the food takes longer to digest and depend on people might have digesting problem.

Also eating fast might have higher risk of choking. If you have time why not eat slowly and enjoy the food.

An uncle always tease me, he say contractors eat very fast so they make alot of money, i eat very slow money will run away...

in terms of physical, being fat or thin, eat too fast actually contribute to over eating...1 plate won't be enough...you'll add 1 more and at the end of the day, all undigested food will become fat...I experienced this myself...now, 1 scoop of rice seems to be enough for me, as I eat slower than before and enjoy my meals...and eating too slow is not good also...just keep it at average speed... biggrin.gif
