which eris ROM did you flashed kamikraze?

i havent encounter any FC's yet up until now. my first impression is that this ROMs is as stable as the Eris ROMs. but i dont like the new look of HTC's apps like Peep. kinda unpolish. and the Friendstream app is kinda slow.

well maybe this is due to early build as stated by Behnaam. he said he just got the latest build and now working on it. lets just wait for more awesome updates from him.

for now im sticking with this ROM.

i think villain 3.4 is based on 2.1 eris leak.

I'm testing Villain 4.0 beta 2 right now. already running it for the last 24 hours and i believe the battery is quite ok. the key is to actually wipe everything during flashing including the battery stats.

yeah sometimes there's some lag when scrolling. to minimize it, i downloaded overclock widget from market, place it on the last home screen. i set the cpu to max 528 mhz when screen is on and slow it down to 160 mhz when screen is off. doing this also extends the battery life a little.

illegal_player, i think you did something wrong when you flashed the villain rom. i've tried the included facebook for android and i can post my status update from that app. so i think the app works just as it is.

also, there's nothing wrong with my facebook contacts and my gtalk worked normally.

did you do a full wipe when flashing?

my method when flashing any rom is to full wipe. everything. wipe data, wipe dalvik cache, wipe battery stats and also wipe rotation stats.

if you cant find these options, then you have to update your recovery version.

VillainROM 5.0, how bout the stability and the battery life guys?

Hero is definitely going to be obsolete in 1 year, by looking at how fast HTC is pouring out new products.

there are lots of backup program that you can use to back up all your data before you flash new ROMs. and for contacts, you can easily back it up to the cloud, the Google cloud that is.

in terms of outlook/design, i don't think Hero will be obsolete because it is very unique. in terms of hardware, yes, due to the fact that it is running on last gen processor.

but it really depends on what you yourself need and want to do the with the phone. if you are just a casual user then you can try Hero first and perhaps you can upgrade later.

yeah, but when you are addicted to raging thunder 2, you will wish your Hero has somemore power under the hood. hahaha

i dont like these villlain 5.x series due to the fact that it is based on Sprint Hero, a cdma version. option for hiding sim contact is not there.

the purpose of me keeping contacts on sim is for backup. it is like whenever there's a need for me to take out the sim and use it on another phone, the contacts will be there on the new phone. and a true gsm phone should always has the ability to read sim contacts or hide it.

but then its just my opinion. yes i know we can just wipe the contacts on the sim for now.
