QUOTE(bliss85 @ Feb 12 2010, 12:37 AM) Btw, regarding this, I had successfully tether my phone using the Settings>Wireless Settings>Mobile Network Sharing. Just wondering what is the difference between the methods? |

im using windows 7 x64 bit with my Hero. HTC sync and adb works fine.
just a check list. 1. install usb driver in your SDK. this will allow your pc to detect android device. 2. install the latest HTC sync. make sure you have the correct driver in your program files > htc > htc driver > driver files. mine it says Win7_x64 3. check whether you enabled usb debugging or not in your phone settings. settings > application > development > usb debugging 4. set your path correctly in environment variables. make sure you have the correct java and the correct path to java in environment variables. i think that should do the trick. at least for me thats what i do and my syncs are working correctly. BTW this is my current Hero screenshots. just wanna share. ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by apika: Feb 25 2010, 01:05 PM |

im using HERO21 community 1.8 release. i think thats the most stable so far. KAGU keeps FC on me a lot. VillainROM too bloated and battery draining.
btw, the wallpaper comes with the ROM. i think its in stock 2.1 gallery. i will try to extract it and share it here later. the expose like effect is called Sense Leap. quite handy. This post has been edited by apika: Feb 25 2010, 04:31 PM |

bonanno, yes apps2sd supported but you have to enabled thru adb first. my battery with moderate use ( on GSM, sometimes 3g, wifi in the office) can last about 24-30 hours.
to Guardian, try dial this, *#*#4636#*#* , then go to phone information, find the set preferred network type dropdown menu, and set to what you want at the moment. to save battery set it to GSM only. for getting a stable HSDPA connection set it to WCDMA only. hope that'll help. |

LOL bonanno, i misread your post. A2DP supposed to be working but i never test it since i dont have bluetooth headset. why dont you flash the rom and try it. then let us know.
Guardian, if you just want to force it to use GSM only, and survive restart, have you tried settings>wireless & networks>mobile network settings>use only 2G networks. hope that'll help. |

QUOTE(kongkkm @ Mar 3 2010, 09:48 PM) this is still 1.5 cupcake. it is beautiful, but still bloated. Aycteesee's Rom is the fastest for 1.5 rightnow.then again, when you've use 2.1, you'll never want to go back to 1.5 again. |

always trust ROMs by nprussell and behnaam. theirs is your best bet.
ah this new 2.1 ROM are just super fast and smooth. better than everything else. Sense UI is very well optimised here. i'll post some screenshots later. This post has been edited by apika: Mar 5 2010, 03:30 PM |

im using capdase silicon case and no screen protecter coz i think it will negate the awesome oleophobic coating on the screen.

cleave, i bought it in lowyat plaza. but its light brown in color and its the only color available there. its not as nice as those epikcase above though.
fingerprints on the screen is obvious just as on other screens but the oleophobic coating really helps improve the situation. |

been running Lox CleanEris for 48 hours. battery drain isnt an issue. the key is to wipe battery state in recovery. my Hero runs for about 20 hrs with wif during office and 3g for the rest of the day.
and oh, be ready for another round of ROM flashing frenzy because the Legend ROM was leaked and now in the process of being ported to Hero. here's a screenshot This post has been edited by apika: Mar 10 2010, 10:19 PM |

there's always issues with unofficial ROMs. thats the general rule. but if you want to play safe, better not try them just yet.
as for me personally, i'm pretty satisfied. nothing i cant do just yet with the new ROM. the main problems now with Eris ROMs are, 1. MMS 2. battery usage 3. SIM contacts cant be hide because Eris as a CDMA phone dont use SIM cards so the option is not included in the ROM. but the devs are really hard at work to fix them. now lets wait for the Legend ROMs to be released shall we? |
