If the answer is yes kindly share your location and package so we can identify which area being throttled so we can issue a complain to TM.

Just downloaded 4GB of data.

i was capped before and after sending them an email i got myself uncapped!

Download 20GB++ of data since 1st september. The speed still maintain @ 180++ KBps.

I don't know... its always sh*tty so its hard to know how much more sh*ttier it can get.

im from AU4 Keramat.. not capped..

i got really slow connection few days before..
then i DC and try getting good IP.. now 115.x.x.x
then ALL IS GOOD!

some websites in particular regions are capped ...

i'm dload 1~2gb daily ... using 150~180mbps .... rm88 (old package)

the ip assigned is random ... so just reconnect till your desired connection

I've definitely download more than 10Gb this month but no capping so far. Could be because I've just upgraded to 4Mb last week. However, that being said, my rapidshares download is just hovering around the 120KB/s mark. Sure looks like they're throttling downloads from rapidshare (which is still "OK"). As long they don't cap the total download speed of the line to less than 50KB/s I'm fine with it.

My line is now too slow. TMNet is crazy for profits like Wall Street firms and has no qualms about changing the Terms and Conditions just to increase their profits. Won't be surprised if there is a cap.

In the end, it may be better to switch to P1 or Izzi. At least they are clear about the caps - ie after X mb, you will be restricted to Y mbps.

Because I doubt some people will misunderstand by the word "capped"

Capped means u can't get the speed what u pay for. no matter in local and international site... But some ppl might think they got 50kB/s in US site.. but 100kB/s in local site...

this is the result i get few days ago, no matter i try to connect to Malaysia server, or oversea server, i always get similar result. and i am now oversea, i cannot do the latest test.

so if you compare the Download to Upload and ping time, you thing i have any problem connecting to singapore server?

but why the Download is so slow while the upload is just like normal? please explain to me this is not capping.

Your connection has been capped. today my internet are uncapped by tmnet .. so..for your solution ..plz everytime call tmnet to fix your line.. scold them,, pawn them.. headshot them... show them no mercy...it should be fixed

not sure I'm been capped or not coz there are 3 ip range I always get...115.x.x.x, 118.x.x.x, 124.x.x.x...and the 115 ip is the normal uncapped version where I can get full speed through this ip...but if I got 118 or 124 the speed is just like being capped...also I have reported this to TM since last monday...

during the day i can get max speeds for BT
once 5pm comes, the speed drops (but upload still same speeds)
direct downloads can get max speeds at anytime of the day

if don't show off your download speed. You not get cap by tmnut.

You were monitoring by them! That's no way for you avoid it.

No. Monitoring is done right down to port level.

Even if u use VPN, data still goes right through your port.

That's why HTTP is also throttled.

just receive call from premium CS, they tell me bcoz the wangsa maju area having the trial cap test and maintainence until 19 september so my connection will become slow until 19 sept so they say can not do anything and just say sorry to me about the slow connection. tmnut really drive me crazy!!!!!

i found an interesting discovery, there is a limited bandwidth per day. it seems i download everyday but after 12 oclock the download speed goes to normal.. but eventually in the morning it slows down to 40-50kb

Nope, to be precise it's peak and off-peak capped. I'm being under this condition back to August, after the APCN2 down.
It only applied to certain of international website or links. The throttle kicks in everyday from 11:00 to 00:59 Midnight. Non-throttle was from 01:00 Midnight to 10:59. Monday to Saturday. Sunday was a off-day throttle.

*This throttle do not applied to Local. Local is fine.

My SheevaPlug is constantly seeding & leeching from linuxtracker.org and what I notice on my logs are:
9am - around 3am : download speed is capped to 40-50KB, upload is fine
3am - 9am : download speed goes back to normal 90KB, upload is fine

Resetting my connection, no matter how many times, does not help at all. Doesn't matter how many GBs I have downloaded because even if I stop rtorrent and download a 10MB file using wget between 3am to 9am speed is 90KB but download the same file from the same ftp server between 9am to 3am speed is 40-50KB also using wget

I'm from Sri Petaling Zone N. I suspect my line is capped too. When I download from RS/MU at night starts from 9pm, I will get around max 50KB/s no matter which server I choose. Another thing that I noticed is, when you look at the Local Area Connection at the taskbar there, usually the light is blinking steadily when the line is busy right? But the thing is, starts from 9pm, when you try to download, you can see the "2 monitor thingy" is blinking for 4-5 seconds, then it stops, then blink again. After I woke up @ 7:30 AM, I look at the download speed is back to normal which is 100-180KB/s, AND the line is stable, no blinking and stop and blinking.

The case I mentioned above is only RS/MU, if not mistaken, normal HTTP is fine, torrent is normal too depending on seeds. Will try to monitor more

After monitor for few days, I confirmed my RS and MU has been capped. Midnight til 7am, the speed slow like turtle. After 7am, speed goes back to normal max 180KB/s. Netload b4 change to 115 IP is the fastest among the others, now becomes the slowest which is less than 20KB/s. Hotfile is max speed the whole day. Normal HTTP download is max speed the whole day too even during the "capped time". I guess they only throttle RS and MU?

RS is not capped for me, weird considering I'm having trouble accessing webpages and my VPN. But my RS still runs around 150 - 190 kbs

Till today, for every 1 month I can get almost 720GB, yet no capping being installed... on my 1Mb package...

At 1mbps, you can only download 10.8 GB a day maximum.

30 days is about 300GB maximum.

My connections speed around 1.5Mb/sec... which is almost everytime I download can get more than 120KB/sec... 1Mb*24hour*30days = 720GB should be... right now I'm more to seeder than leeching...

I think I similiar case with you but slightly different. I been downloading whole 24 hour and notice that I only get dc n speed capped if I'm downloading more than 700mb file. I'm been downloading 175mb-350mb file and never dc at all. But when download 700mb or more, I'll get dc after a period of time. Cant even press disconnect from modem...need force off but off the modem n on back to restart IP then everything is normal back. Start happen last week friday till now, I thought is they doing maintenance so care less about the dc but now is like becoming frequent dc if downloading more than 700mb file. will test more on it.

Well, mine already reached almost 100GB per month but still no capped yet...speed for download (both direct/BT) are still an average of 150kbps ...but for the past few days i get quite some disruption from Streamyx...

TMNut sucks. My megaupload starts at 150kBps, and then gets capped at 25kBps after only approx 1gb.

Seriously, you should be charged much higher for the level of abuse.

This happened to my 4 Mbps on certain ip range u need to mix the bandwidth not only to download otherwise this will happened on 4 Mbps this happened when u hit 10GB but after reconnect change ip you can bypass this

Another thing I found out lol..when I use Hotfile to download @ 7am - around 11pm..always 150KB/s-180KB/s..when reach midnight - 7am, speed will drop to 50KB/s - 120KB/s...funny

Well its not exactly the same for everyone but average should be at least 120+kbps

All im getting is 115kbps max.

i actually filed a complain 2 weeks ago until now...

they ended up throwing my cases to technical person, where they will come to my house to check the line.

The logic is, i prove them the problem is not from my side but still they insist sending someone over to check... really WTF...

They seems dont understand English and trying to call you everyday for a useless updates and hope that you will close the ticket.

The best part is we are paying FULLY but getting Throttle or capping which does not justify and now affecting normal internet browsing.

I wonder if TNB can do the same as well, make people pay fully but only supply 180V to every house...

Internet services have become a Utilities same like water and power, they can't live with this lousy standard forever...
