Hi ,
I've bought the Nokia X6 32GB ,
but the BUTTONS in the headset is not functioning , anyone knows how to resolve this problem ?
*
this actually quite annoying.

first time when you inserted the cable, X6 will prompt a menu of 4 choices (headphones, speaker yada3).

Pull the cable off.

Then insert back and the menu is gone. test if the button function properly.

should be ok.

how cum?? i confused
*
there shud be a menu prompted when u inserted the cable.

don't select anything at all.

instead, plug off, the menu's gone.

then plug on back the cable.

phone will not prompt anything. then u can use the buttons on headphones.

if you select headphones, it will treat you headphones like normal headphones, without buttons.

y too many complain about this phone...
*
because they don't know how to use S60v5. too much of iphone and BB. tongue.gif

as recommended by icednyior, don't use opera mini. instead, get opera mobile. feels like using new LG chocolate without 4"inch screen. laugh.gif and opera mobile comes with the tabs.

X6 runs on S60v5, same as 5800, N97 and other nokia touchscreen phones.

N900 runs on Maemo, which is for me is 'performance godlike' wink.gif. A 'all-about-performance' device. None of any other devices like iphone, Satio or other can beat N900 performance. tongue.gif

Future nokia devices will run probably on Symbian^3. New generation of symbian. One of its new featureis graphic accelerate function which can be seen like CoverFlow on Apple products or real 3d games on iphone/ipod touch.

But there maybe (read:maybe) future Nokia devices will not run on Symbian. Right now Nokia runs a poll of how their future device will be on Nokia Conversations blog.

I bet this device will shows up its form in the end of this year since lately Nokia will release their flagship device about once in 6-10 months. The latest is N900 and before that is N97. If I'm not mistaken N81 once been Nokia's flagship device. smile.gif

thnx, wow, yeap N900 is good in terms of functionality, but,i terms of flashiness,X6 beats them all,cuz X6 is not that thick,as compared to N900,(N900 looks nerdy, that's what i've heard).....
do you think X6 is a worth-buying phone now?

or maybe the price is still sky-high?

and do anyone know the actual price of Zetron X6(1st hand ofcuz)?
*
it's up to u what kind of phone u prefer.

X6:
pros:
-sleek design although not slim
-capacitive screen
-Music Store 'buffet' a.k.a Comes With Music
-very large storage. suitable for anybody who loves to watch movie file on the go .

cons:
-very fragile body sad.gif
- hangs occasionally
-not have search by keyword in music player
-small RAM, very frust when you download something then exit automatically because of it's autokill when RAM not sufficient.
-doesn't have horizontal home screen (even hacked 5800XM have one sad.gif)

for me I prefer device which have durable body like E72 and all Nokia slim phones coz usually they have very durable and sturdy body. My spare phone (7210 Supernova) is slim, but very durable. I mean VERY.

For me right now for performance per price for high price tag, E72 beats all Nokia phones. Quite decent function, A-GPS, 3.5mm jack, 5MP, what else do you want? laugh.gif Design is not my priority although I prefer clamshell like N76 and 7510 Supernova. tongue.gif

epikcase i believe is something more special. Never use it before though.

Still not repairing my X6. Why NCC is so far away? Don't have time to go there. sad.gif

hm.. i read few posts in this thread, a lot ppl complaining to this phone, such as wifi, cover loose, firmware lagging,  headphone problem and etc. so im thinking is it a good choice to get this, the firmware problem something like lagging or hang happens frequently?
*
for me la, as x6 user,

if you want to buy it now,

i suggest you to save some money

then buy n8. saw a picture that n8 can play sims 3 with not-much-difference from PC version.

coverflow music player.

and lotsa apps. Nokia is working SUPER HARD to compete with Apple AppStore.

N8 + 3m mini projector = present everywhere. biggrin.gif

not sure about proejctor thingy, but anything which can display something and have a digital interface (VGA/DVI/DP) sure can convert to N8 HDMI port.

biggrin.gif

anyway, if you still insist to buy x6, get also a leather pouch @ epikcase @ capdase silicon cover + decent screen protector.

for me, if you want to use it casually without stressing multitask, i think this phone is decent enough.

i use this phone for music, skyping and emails. other function, rarely use.

since i'm using 32GB version, i also store some movies to watch it during travelling. converted to mpeg format i think, since i rarely travel right now. tongue.gif

The battery can last how long? I always SMS and call my gf. I used 5800 b4, the battery is good for me, and I still can use garmin for my whole day trip at Melaka. Would it better than 5800 battery? How bout the speaker if compare to 5800?
*
what phone ur using now?

the only major upgrade in X6 compare with 5800XM is...

audio chip (freakin fantastic), new body design (better than 5800), capacitive touchscreen and awesome 5MP camera.

I once capture Le Tour de Langkawi in race and X6 can give me a continuous still image! Just like DSLR. biggrin.gif

speaker also better.

lagging... hmm this is subjective. depends on usage. Usually this small apps from Ovi Store will drain your battery fast when you quit improperly (still hidden in task manager). And makes phone lag.

For greedy people who wants multitask at maximum, get N900. I bet soon-to-be-launch N8 also cannot compare with N900 in terms of memory based on N8 demo video.

if you already used to 5800 QWERTY pad, it's not much different compare to X6, just a little bit sensitive.

call duration, damn long. As it can resist 3G + wifi on for a whole day, call duration is nothing.

else are the same.

casing quality very louya one. get silicon case fast.

budget case = epikcase (only sold online by ebay, askarperang and other dude; forgot his name)
a little bit branded case = capdase (even got leather pouch special for X^ if i'm not mistaken)

but leather pouch seems like an old guy in mid 40's. tongue.gif

X6 dont have much fans here. Maybe because outdated GUI (doesnt much dfferent from S60v3 and V1) and laggy-ness.

As long as I can use Skype on mobile, great camera for reference purpose and awesome music player, a little lag doesnt disturb me at all.

But a virtual RAM will be a gift if its available. biggrin.gif

Anyway, it's free phone. Cant say much complaints. tongue.gif

EDIT: oh.. one more thing.. anyone knows the price for Nokia WH-701 headset(nokia original)?

thanks in advance  smile.gif
*
car cradle?

i found similar to this one but china made and can fit into ALL PHONES (almost, exception to nokia's past weird leaflet design) and guess what, the price is RM9.90. rclxms.gif

Comparing to one i saw at Nokia Authorize reseller that reached almost RM200. shocking.gif just because it's 'made by nokia'. sweat.gif

p/s: it's similar to car cradle that ngbh done at bulk orders section.

btw.. do you know the price for the WH-701 earphones??
*
That RM20 car cradle have many design to choose. At my place (johor) it ranged from Rm9.90 to Rm16. dunno KL selangor price.

WH-701? i tried to find that earpiece also. No luck here in my place.

But I prefer BH 214. Less clutter. Do you know the price for this one?

Yeap...Virtual RAM..and overclock and probably a "Lite" version of Symbian^3 (maybe running at 30fps instead of 60fps) biggrin.gif

Hoping for a better future for Nokia X6
*
you should ask aspires2006 and some others (including me:P) how we felt when it's still not release in malaysia while you already bored playing with it. laugh.gif

Pros - Can show off to friends and even Nokia Authorized Reseller (I do this sweat.gif laugh.gif)
Cons - Very ^*&%#*%& lag and too much problem compare with Firmware v20 nowadays.

It's somewhere around 50 apps...I don't think Nokia has realized this problem yet...haih...Symbian 1 sux...
Give Symbian 3 to Nokia X6...
*
Since RAM and processor for X6 are not good enough to run Symbian 3, seems Symbian 3 will be a dream to those X6 owners.....

....unless they buy N8 soon. tongue.gif

BTW, have anyone here tried F-Secure Anti-Theft?

I installed it but still not trying this app capabilities since it claims 'can detect stolen phone through GPS and lock it'.

but the downside of it, it needs to run everytime on background. So, right now I can't use my Opera Mobile while using this app. sad.gif

With it's 32gb mass memory, it's extremely easy to install more than 50apps...I can't understand how in the world can this actually be an issue to so many Nokia S60v5 and yet nokia didn't rectify it?-.-
*
because they didn't have even 50 apps in Ovi Store when S60v5 phones already reached market about... 1 1/2 years ago? starting with N97 and 5800.

just save up some money, or sell ur X6 + top up some money, then N8 @ iphone 4 release just grab it. tongue.gif

Hey ppl, just got my nokia x6 two weeks ago. and i found that:
1. the usb cover at the top doesn't close perfectly, a bit jutting out.
2. my camera lens is not properly in place, like a bit senget. is this a common defect?
3. there is also a noticeable lag during picture taking.

Just want to ask if you all have the same defect or same issue. or is it just my unit?

cheers!
*
1. normal
2. normal
3. normal

after all this is x6. not x666. tongue.gif
