QUOTE(ken86 @ Feb 8 2010, 10:12 PM) your theory is flawed. And yes you should carry heavy weights, do i look fat to you or anyone of us that actually lift some man weights look fat to you ? 10kgs each side, I think my sister does more than that. What does all this trainer learn these days .. geez Sorry i meant by buff...wow more than 10kg's?..i tried 15kg on each side once, max i can do is 6-7 reps only

QUOTE(faizpsp89 @ Feb 8 2010, 09:43 PM) Guys i need some help...Let me start,Im 17 dis year with weight @ 93kg/160cm tall!..I just joined gym 2 months back,my main intention is to lose weight and built up my muscle..But i dun want to look like those bulky/buff type..Just a normal body with muscle..So,last week the Trainer in my gym(celebrity fitness) told me that i should not do cardio and carrying weights together so that i wont be buff..He said just do cardio only for now until i burn enough fat! But,my friend in the Fitness Concept(was an ex CF trainer) told me that that is all bullshit. He said to burn fat faster,i need to cardio and weight training together! Im now very confused guys...Helpp!! you are in complete control on how big you want to be. its not like you wake up and turn into hulk. in later stages adding 1 inches or 1kg per year is gonna be a b****. QUOTE(faizpsp89 @ Feb 8 2010, 10:09 PM) But will i become buff?Btw,based on my own theory,if a person is fat and he carries weight he will become buff..Correct? About the weights, should i carry large weights?Usually ill do free weights with 10kg on each side..Good enough? Ur trainer know nuts about losing fat. Without caloric surplus u can hardly put on muscle. As ur goal is to lose fat, usually we will look into low carbs and caloric deficit diet. Bulky? I would be Mr olympia by now if it is so easy in bulking Added on February 9, 2010, 10:56 amQUOTE(shanecross @ Feb 9 2010, 10:34 AM) Musashi is a supplement brand. Musashi , Max's Nutrition or something along the line and Aussie bodies are quite inferior brands to be honest. Even the locals seem to support US based brand products as the price of these aussie-based brands tend to be even more expensive in australia despite the fact that the US brands are imported. If i m not mistaken, Musashi sponsors some aussie footy team was it geelong cats or bulldogs, can't recall.

My squats are limited to 60kgs cause that's the max I can clean and lower to my shoulders then push it back up to remove the weights afterward!

Of course u can train without supplementss, you are a student now I assumed, minimal stress (I know study is quite stressful wait till you see the real world and bills flooding in) access to your mom's money for groceries. If you are playing rugby, 173 cm and 57kg is rather puny. Eat more lift more, rest more is what u need. At this age, you should focus more on proper lifting techniques as bad motor patterns is really hard to correct. At this weight, you should eat more dead animal flesh, nuts, rice , and the occasional cheese burger.
