guys I am getting my first DSLR which I made up my mind to be D90. I am a newbie so pls bare with me. Is it worth to get the 18-55mm instead of the standard kit lens 18-105mm? or any alternative lens that you can recommend? I read some comment that 18-55mm produce better IQ, need some input pls

Perhaps you are right maybe I should get the kit lens first to play then later upgrade, I've read some suggestions about Tamron 17-50mm lens used one I see selling around RM1200, but I was wondering is it worth if I straight away top up for a better used lens?

where you get offer 3800?

just bought my first dSLR D90 at j one amcorp mall today. D90 + kit + bag upgrade from 4gb to 8gb class 6 = RM4100

found there is a bright pixel on the upper right part just directly above the image. Not really a big deal, coz No affect on the image display but if i were to sell it next time might have some prob. Thinking to send it back to exchange. What u guys think?

Guys, need your opinion here.

Bought the D90 on saturday just 1 days + ago, test a shot with the lens cap on and I notice a hot pixel at the LCD (not the sensor), its located upper right of the image display but not directly on the image so does not affect the image preview. It is not noticeable in the day but at night when view the LCD can see it, especially those shots taken with low light. What you guys think, should I send it back or live with it? Called up j one, I was expecting a one to one exchange. but the boss says he can help to send back to Nikon service center and should be quite fast. I am thinking if like this how long it will take if send back to Nikon, coz I will need to use it over thise few weeks?

Added on September 28, 2009, 1:56 amJ one is selling at RM4080 kit + 4GB, before Raya they were selling RM4050 with additional UV filter but no tripod la.. I manage to get 4100 Kit + upgrade to 8gb card & bag

but for 18-105 there is reported to have problem with the plactic mount easily break.

Try google 18 105 plastic mount problem. U will find loads of complaints. I'm selling my kit lens off soon
