New to DSLR. I would appreciate if someone could enlighten me on the difference in using DSLR body alone and with KIT? Wout kit, can it do the same magic like superb shots on d90? and recommend a simple lens that will compromise all in one..and how much it would be.tq

As a beginner and wanting to take indoor and landscapes (normal usage as a traveler) : Is it better to buy nikon
1. d90 body alone and add in AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D first and try it out
or
2. d90 kit with 18-105mm VR
or
any other suggestion.

if i buy 18-105mm in separate later, is the price gonna b any difference than kit set?

Anyone can gimme some samples of pics with d90 18-105mm lens? Im thinking if i should get the kit with this lens, or try with smaller scaler lens like 55mm?

They claim 18-55mm lens is sharper quality compare to 105mm

Is Jone reliable place to buy? Everywhere the price is almost same. RM3.1k for body. Anyone would have better price?

anyway, my suggestion. As u get to know more abt ur dslr like getting to know what button does what and what does what, maybe when taking night shots, u can lower the exposure compensation a bit so the pic a bit darker then can just see the neon lights brightly shining. or another way, u jack up the EV a bit so that the scene is bright enough to see the buildings n others.
of course, later u can make use of things like spot metering etc.

this automode by all means is not wrong, just that in auto, the camera tries to make everything balanced. So like in the pic 1 n 2, the cam tries to make the dark buildings not too dark and the lights not too bright.

for the 3rd pic, maybe can adjust composition a bit. Try to make use of the 2/3 rule.

Thanks bro. I'm gonna look into whats EV, spot metering, 2/3 rule. lols. but i'll learn up on that
