Before anyone even tries to flame me yes i have tried using the search function and have failed to find a solution with it .. anyways ive been trying to download a few games off the games marketplace but some of them seem to give me a message that says "this download is not available in your location" does this mean my 360 is not compatible with the game or do i need to create a US account just to access it ?

that's means the games is not available yet or will not be available for the country where ur gamertag registered to. Yeah ... u need to create US account just to download it if the game is available for US.

nope, it's region restricted via IP address... if you got the wrong region account, the item won't appear at all in the marketplace. in this case, the item is there meaning your account is the correct region, but your IP address is wrong. need to do some VPN tunnelling, checkout the Gears of War 2 thread on how to do it

But I'm having the AUS gamertag, the item shown there. When I click it, it said it is unavailable in this region bla bla =P

yerp correct like what hikaru x said, it is lock by ur region ip address. even tho u have us account, if u in malaysia, u still cant download those game or map pack.

what i did was easier than setting up vpn or tunneling. use web proxy instead. but u still need to have US account.

1) i use web proxy with US ip address to login to xbox.com. MS will detect that i login to xbox.com from US.
2) purchase game that u want thru xbox.com. u will not encounter any problem with ip lock. ur download will be added to queue and will be downloaded once u turn on ur console and login to the us account..

if so... How u put into the 360?

He means you can queue up the things you want to download from xbox.com
Then when you sign in your xbox live, the things will start to download to your console HDD

on the xbox live dashboard they sell 500 points 11usd, 1000 points 22usd and so on

i managed to download few things using this trick especially cod waw map pack 3.

and if u have fren that lives in us, u can ask them to login for u n queue up things to download.

just an advice, all xbox live topup at maximus is not worldwide anymore after some global maintenance by MS on june this year. i did purchase that time and cant use that code so they refund me back.

for MS point, it is also only applicable to us account.

Ya, download again but need to keep connect to Xbox live in order to play full and not offline since it's not the same console ID.
Need to do license transfer so that it can merge the Console ID together with gamertag. That's what i read from xbox forum XD

yerp, xbox live topup at maximus is not global anymore, but can be use with US acct. i purchase 2,3 times back then and cant use,so they refund me back.

but if u wanna try go ahead, if fail to redeem they can refund u within 48 hours.
