It is very obvious that u did.
As achew mentioned, there r masking irregularities around the edges of the sky against the buildings/roofs.

My personal comment: Your HDR looks overcooked...although the color of the sky is nice, but the overall composition needs to be improved & probably a bit more tweaking during tone mapping.

Nah, he might not have.
Creating HDRs out of one single RAW frame can often lead to such irregularities, especially in Photomatix sweat.gif

Sorry to criticize, but your photo doesnt look like a HDR image.
I see increased contrast but no increased dynamic range. But the photo reminds me of Crysis xD

That guy's HDRs are more to the surreal. I personally like normal looking shots =P biggrin.gif
But still, they are good shots smile.gif

I think it will look better without the vignetting.
*
I on the other hand feel that the vignetting makes the viewer focus more on the jetty and gives the whole picture an aged look thumbup.gif

Camera: Canon S90
F-stop: f/2.0
Exp time: 1/60
ISO: 80
Focal Length: 28mm

In addition I used the camera's nostalgic mode and make the focus shorter for some blur. Feel free to comment  smile.gif
*
The colours certainly bring the nostalgia out, but the out of focus totally ruined the picture. Old pictures can have faded colors, but the focus makes one forget about the nostalgia rclxub.gif

I see, thanks for clarifying.
How can you be a beginner... Bokehmon...? brows.gif

In Photochop under the Filters section, you can choose to add noise.
Here I did this just now when I was bored.

P.S: I think the small file size screwed up my grains =X
To save the full file was 20mb @.@ biggrin.gif

HDR is still less visible, and plenty of color noises there.Btw,I'm also confused in the curve.
*
The HDR is smack there right in front of you. doh.gif
The highlights which is the evening sky is well exposed, and the shadows which are the building and trees are a little bit less exposed.

I'm guessing Hearts only took one RAW shot which exposed the evening sky, then used the Single File Conversion in Photomatix to try to bring out the shadows. He did, in the end, but the overall photo could've been improved with the use of multiple exposures.
