Manchester United & Aston Villa Legend Dwight Yorke Retires From Football
QUOTE
The man who always seemed to play the game with such joy has decided to call time on his career...

Dwight Yorke, the forward who won a Champions League winners medal with Manchester United in 1999 after enjoying a successful career with Aston Villa, has announced his retirement from professional football.

Yorke, who also captained Trinidad & Tobago at the 2006 World Cup, joined Aston Villa in 1989, before moving to Old Trafford in 1998 for £12.6 million. He won three successive league titles with the Red Devils, scoring 64 goals in 151 appearances for the club, before moving to Blackburn Rovers in 2002 and Birmingham City in 2004.

A short spell in Australia with Sydney FC was followed by a return to England with Sunderland in 2006, where he played mainly as a holding midfielder.

"I hope people will say that I played the game in the right way with a smile on my face," Yorke told BBC Sport.
"While I'm still in great shape, I'm not getting any younger and I've had the time of my life.

"I've been blessed really. I've played alongside some of the greatest players the Premier League has ever seen in Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Peter Schmeichel, and played for the greatest manager in Sir Alex Ferguson.

"I'll always count myself lucky. I was a boy on a beach from a little Caribbean island that got the chance to fulfil his dream of winning trophies at the highest level and captaining his country in their first ever World Cup finals."

Yorke recently accepted a position as assistant manager of Trinidad & Tobago for the rest of the World Cup qualifying campaign, and he reportedly would like to utilise his vast experience by managing in England one day.

i think we should cut foster some slack..yes he's guilty for the equalizing goal but then again, its his first derby match..the nervous feeling is there in him..remember evra last time? but rio suicide pass is unforgivable..coming from an experience player, he shouldnt do what he did..he should just play it simple as the time is with us..there's lesson to be learn by rio and foster..

I'm watching the replay for the third time now, yes..for the third time. This is the only match that I've watch 3 times and it can't even beat the UCL final. Full of drama and excitement.

After watching the match 3 times, I noticed that Giggs still running the attack for us like he did for the past 13 years. 13 years for god sake and nobody could ever replace him. He bring creativity and skill to the team. I remember one moment in the match where he cross the ball to Berba using outside of his foot and I doubt there is other player in our team that able to match that skill and accuracy. I'm quite concern with this as Giggs can't start every match and to who we should rely to deliver such services to our strikers. Carrick, Ando, Hargo, Fletcher couldn't give that kinda services IMO, they still lacking that creativity and skill. I can say that without Giggs, we are nowhere near victory yesterday. I said Fletcher deserve MOTM for his 2 goals but I took that back today. Giggs was spectacular yesterday, keep bombing crosses and tricks to Citeh defense. 3 out of 4 goals were provided by Giggs, nuff said.

Looking back at Rio and Foster horrendous mistake, that is unacceptable. I agreed and believe that defender have their bad day like what Vidic did last season against Pool so what we can do is buck up and NEVER repeat that kinda mistake again. I wonder what they train Foster during training, kicking or decision making? sweat.gif Regardless which one he must improve those two to avoid SAF buying the Russia international goalie..Akinfeev??
*
i dont think SAF is going to buy him (akinfeev)..i think its just a story that SAF creates to make sure that foster dont f**ked up like yesterday tongue.gif in another word, to remind foster that he's dispensable..

Foster nervous? How many chances can be given if he nervous all the times...
he made a lot of mistake not only this match...
He must be do more to prove he is able to take the 1st goalkeeper position from Van der sar...
No doubt Ferdinand should be blamed that he playing 'SKILL' at last moment....
Hope both of them will getting better after this lesson @@

derby nervous is different than others..there's always a bit of added pressure in this kind of derby..as i said, its his first derby experience..for some, they can handle the pressure but some doesnt..
