11. OK... what happens if during the peeling off process... you see that the PU nameset is not 100% bonded? As shown below:



No worries, if.. during the process of peeling off the nameset's plastic film, you happen to notice something like shown above, re-iron again the nameset. Repeat steps 5-10 as shown above... Ensure that there's equivalent amount of coverage and pressure during ironing..

If you manage to re-apply the ironing again correctly, it should be ok and you can continue to peel the plastic film off:



Then you have completed Part 1 and Part 2... Wait, is it done yet? Not yet...

To ensure that your PU nameset is 100% solidly bonded to the jersey's surface.. the thin PU nameset's surface MUST mimic the original surface of the plain jersey.. If the jersey has some unique patterns on the surface, it must also appear on the nameset..

To do this (ensure 100% solid bonding of PU nameset), you have to do Part 3.. which is to ensure the solid bonding of the PU nameset:

Part 3: Ensuring the solid bonding of PU nameset

The key here is to ensure that the PU nameset's surface is not plain and solid, but it must mimic the original surface of the jersey. Here are the steps:

1. Flip your jersey inside out (terbalikkan it first) and put it on top of the ironing board:


2. Iron press firmly for 5 seconds on the areas where the PU nameset sits:


Another way you can do is, re-use the plastic film that you peeled off previously and then place the film on top of the nameset and then iron on top of it ... This is a risky move that I won't recommend, but it works... Ensure that you terbalikkan or flip the plastic film so that the remains from the previously removed nameset doesn't overlap the PU namesets and leave marks on it..

But jerseyman recommends step 2 (flip it inside out first), to be more safer...

3. The key here, as spoken earlier is to ensure that the PU nameset's surface is not plain solid, but it must mimic the original surface of the jersey. As I am using the Man United 2007-2009 home jersey, the back of the jersey's surface has this unique holes.. The PU nameset's surface MUST mimic the holes of the jersey's surface to ensure that it has 100% bonded solidly...

Conclusion....

The pros and cons of applying lextra/velvet namesets against PU namesets:

Lextra/velvet namesets:
Pros - Less risky
Cons - A bit tedious when you have to arrange them one by one

PU namesets:
Pros - Less tedious where the letters are already pre-arranged
Cons - A bit risky

If you're afraid to DIY apply the namesets yourself, you can always send it to a shop and have the experts do it for you. But if you are a daredevil and willing to take risk.... why not. But bare in mind the risks again...................... good luck!
