u can go to the arthur website..jus without the "www"

what I know about this concert is it is very complicated terms that the goverment has set up

1) During the concert, there will be no alcohol serve and cannot show the name guinness. Which is y u will only c Arthur's Day..(jus like Artistry without the word hennessy xD)

2) Guinness can promote their name during the promo peroid for the event

3) No muslim is allowed

but to me,I would rather gather some guinness kaki's and hang out at some bar n drink guinness n celebrate arthur's day

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government has agreed to let Muslims attend a concert by US hip-hop stars Black Eyed Peas, reversing an earlier ban imposed because the show is sponsored by an alcoholic beverage company, officials said Wednesday.

Ticket sales opened to Muslims on Wednesday for the Sept 25 show, backed by Irish beer giant Guinness, said Bonor Seen, marketing manager for organiser Artiste World Entertainment.

An Information, Communications and Culture Ministry official, who declined to be named citing ministry policy, said the ban was lifted late last week and a letter was sent to the organiser.

She did not give further details or say why the Government lifted the ban, which had caused an outcry.

Government regulations forbid alcohol companies from organising public concerts. But this one -- part of worldwide celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of Guinness’ flagship brewery in Dublin -- was allowed in order to boost tourism, although with the initial condition that Muslims would be kept away.

Uncertainty over the Black Eyed Peas concert was not a first for Galaxy, the parent company of Artiste World Entertainment.

Last year the government threatened to put off a Galaxy-organised concert by Canadian pop-rock star Avril Lavigne though in the end it went ahead.

Shows by Lavigne and other artists such as Gwen Stefani have faced protests by conservative Muslims over immodest clothing, forcing the artistes to don attire that revealed little skin. While Lavigne and Stefani performed, other artistes have shunned Malaysia.

The Black Eyed Peas have topped Billboard’s Hot 100 singles charts for the past 20 consecutive weeks, the most ever by an act. -- AP

I agree with you, there should be alcohol to celebrate this day! What is the purpose of not drinking the alcohol that is invented by Arthur when you are going to celebrate Arthur's Day?

It makes the event not very supportive on his innovation, which makes it meaningless...

i see, i was planning to go and celebrate this arthur's day. but ain't it meaningless if there's no guiness stout, imagine everyone holding up water to cheers?

I hope the auhorities can really understand the people's point of view on this. Just give us a little bit of freedom, won't it hurt them, will it?

No Stout, No Arthur's day. what's the point of celebrating when the trademark drink is not there itself.

As a muslim majority country,
The goverment does not allow alcohol in a public concert like arthurs day or akon concert
(note that akon concert is also sponsored by chivas)

Thus in order to celebrate Arthur's Day, I will gather some kaki's to go to Sid's Pub and shout TO ARTHUR !!
