Wow, I forgot how addictive Heroes of Might and Magic 3 was all those years ago. Been playing for nearly 4 hours straight.

Got an email from GOG saying they're going to give 50% off their entire catalog. Think they've started with Strategy Games. The catch is you have to buy everything inside to enjoy the 50% discount, otherwise only 30% discount for selected titles (which isn't too bad also).

Too bad I only joined GOG a few days ago, so I don't get Jagged Alliance. sad.gif

But on the bright side, I've overcome my Team Fortress 2 addiction ever since I purchased Heroes of Might & Magic III. biggrin.gif

But now I'm addicted to HOMM III instead. icon_question.gif

Then you should give me your TF2 items. At least they'll be useful in my backpack. whistling.gif

I don't mind giving metal and spare weapons, but hats I still keep. Here's my Steam profile page. Add me if you want.

Try running in compatibility mode and disable UAC. Heroes of M&M III crashes frequently but if I run it under Windows 95 mode it works perfectly.

I suppose it is pretty cheap to own the infamous game that killed fmv adventure games.

Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within proved that FMV adventure games could be awesome though. smile.gif

Since I've given up on Steam offering a discount on Psychonauts, I've decided to buy it off GOG. smile.gif

Also notice some games like Beyond Good And Evil are also cheaper on GOG than on Steam.

Sometimes, it is good to pay more for a DRM-less version of a game.

Actually, the GOG sale of Psychonauts was cheaper and DRM-free. smile.gif

Just learned about the Tex Murphy detective game series. Seems quite interesting and the reviews on GOG are pretty positive. So I bought 2 Tex Murphy games this evening since there's a Holiday Sale. smile.gif

Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon
Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive

I'm quite surprised to only come across Tex Murphy recently, even though I've been playing Adventure Games since the LucasArts and Sierra era. blush.gif

I am still considering whether I should get the Witcher 2 from GOG or from Steam.

Support GOG and get Witcher 2 DRM-free. You can always add Witcher 2 as a non-Steam game anyway. smile.gif

I don't mind supporting GOG but I like to have Witcher 2 on Steam because my Witcher 1 is on Steam.
*
Er, does that affect anything? Anyway up to you. I know it's nice to look at all your games in 1 place. And people who view your Steam community profile can see it too.

Hmm thanks guys. Just got 4 free games from GOG by signing up for an account.

If I'm not wrong 2 of the free games are Beneath a Steel Sky and Teen Agent. Both these games are classic adventure games. Both can be completed in an hour or two if you know the solutions. Unfortunately Beneath a Steel Sky took me 3 years. tongue.gif
