ahyo.. hm.. den probably need to wait for the official launching of N900 in Malaysia first den mayb later they will fix this problem.
i think its quite annoying when normally i only use one hand to text and the other hand busy with some other stuffs. now i MUST use both hands to text no matter wat. aiseh.. sad case la.. now i jus need to wait for the new firmware to update. QUOTE(drexar @ Mar 13 2010, 06:34 AM) well u have to get use to it.. i don't think there will be new firmware update for Maemo5, coz nokia is launching MeeGo soon.. so just hoping MeeG0 will support portrait mode. haha.. tx for the info bro.. well guess i've gotta get used to it rather than waiting for the firmware to update to support portrait mode lo. haha. lets hope and see wat MeeGo has to offer us. p/s: i've already get used in using landscape mode.. feels very awkward when using portrait right now haha.. (maybe becoz i've always wanted a landscape phone haha) Warning to those who wanna buy this phone = Pls test this phone first before u buy it.. coz it is not like other phones available in the market.. many find it to hard for them Note: seriously, for those of you out there who wants to get N900, make sure yr prepared to face this prob ( cant use portrait mode ). its up to u whether are u willing to be patient with it and get use to using a fon in Landscape mode only. but overall i think its a damn good fon. i tested it and i feel it is jus a ALL IN ONE FON to me. and something really new in the market for sure. im sure N900 will do well in the market. |

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Mar 13 2010, 09:12 AM) Haha, the portrait text messaging is useful for when... typing sms when you're.. *ahem* driving... haha. ya i'm so used to texting while driving. now, i guess no way anymore. lolz. Good way to prevent users from typing sms with one hand activity When you're used to landscape mode, you might find portrait mode is less appealing already, because this landscape gives you widescreen view... After I've used to landscape browsing mode, and I tried changing to Portrait mode, I give up using portrait mode browsing. With landscape, mostly you just need to scroll up-down, with portait mode, you need to scroll left-right-up-down quite busy and reading text is not so fun. As for reading SMS, I suspect it's also the same, long text will span multiple lines in portrait mode, and if there's on screen keyboard, it'll be number keyboard instead of QWERTY keyboard. But anyway, it's still a NICE TO HAVE option. The next major update is coming (hopefully and probably before this N900 is launch in Malaysia), and hopefully it'll resolve many of the basic/minor or important issues, such as, MMS, contacts grouping, assign sms to contacts and also groups, storing/archiving old sms/conversations, able to sync with Ovi Suite (can transfer Symbian phone's SMS and Notes), fully functional Ovi Map, etc. Pray Pray haha.. one more major prob is cant do video call and cant use front camera to take pics. correct me if im wrong. only can use for Skype. lolz.. that camera is build for Skype only??? haha.. so i hope they better solve this issues in the next major update. |
