QUOTE(x132755 @ Mar 10 2010, 11:30 PM) thanks for the info.but since im charging right now,i think it's best to do it tomorrow when the battery's fully charged...? Added on March 11, 2010, 7:31 amany idea how to block unknown people in conversations? i synced my ym/msn to the phone and now a bunch of unknown people have started sending me messages. this is especially troublesome if i ever happen to go online via 3g/gprs..i'll get charged thanks to this spamming. is there a way to block them? thanks This post has been edited by Mgsrulz: Mar 11 2010, 07:31 AM |

QUOTE(firstknight @ Mar 11 2010, 11:52 AM) for IM... is def very hard to block... for me.. i disable MSN especially cos got loads of adware flying around... even from ppl i know.... lol..guess that's next on the list of improvements Added on March 11, 2010, 11:54 ami use pidgin for MSN.. so i turn on as i want to.... anyway, any hotlink users here? im confused between these two: Prepaid Broadband Mobile Internet Mobile internet seems slightly more expensive, but they're FAQ for prepaid broadband seems to point towards using the HSPA phone with a computer. is prepaid broadband fine with the inbuilt N900 browser? i dont think there's much of a difference between the N900 browser and the pc browser,is there? or do you have to disable the phone capabilities while using prepaid broadband? AFAIK, mobile internet can be used while phone functionality(calls, sms) remains intact, but not so sure about prepaid broadband This post has been edited by Mgsrulz: Mar 11 2010, 12:08 PM |

QUOTE(firstknight @ Mar 11 2010, 12:18 PM) i think broadband is broadband... it connects you to the internet using your mobile provider network. difference would be packaging like speed and prices. price wise it's almost the same, but the broadband is slightly cheaper (if you take a week's package)N900 browser is like desktop browser.. but loading time might defer.. im going out on a limb here and guessing that the major differences between the two is that mobile broadband disables gsm connectivity during a broadband connection |

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Mar 14 2010, 08:49 PM) Ovi Suite does not support N900 yet. so there's no way to use ovi maps loader?Nokia PC Suite only support partially (can sync Contacts, Calendar/Task/ToDo, and notes (for Contacts and Calender) only). It can't transfer SMS and Notes from previous Symbian devices. is it normal for the sms tone to not play completely?
im too lazy to edit tones atm, so i simply selected a MP3 but yet it doesnt play completely. if i had to guess it would only play for about 60 secs is this normal or is something wrong here? plus the phone only vibrates 2 times when messages come in. 2 buzzes when the message first comes in then it just finishes playing the tone but doesnt vibrate anymore This post has been edited by Mgsrulz: Mar 15 2010, 02:37 AM |

QUOTE(silverhawk @ Mar 15 2010, 02:43 AM) I know the vibration settings can be changed by editing the /etc/mce/mce.ini file. I reckon the call duration setting is somewhere in that file too. thanks for the reply.fairly new at this, but i've installed rootsh, and still cant access the file. it says permission denied. ![]() i've gotten this far, and the minute i try to access the file from here it says permission denied. am i missing a step somewhere? thanks |

QUOTE(Ninja @ Mar 15 2010, 10:43 AM) Maybe can try using 'leafpad' text editor to edit the mce configuration file. Refer the following: http://www.mynokiaworld.com/2010/01/hackin...ication-lights/ |
