I don't know if this has been posted here yet, but here goes:

That would translate to RM2150+. Anyone know the tax percentage? My guess is that it would be the same price as N97 when it was first introduced.

I would say, wait it out until it hits 2.3k or less.

Got it from Singapore,no issues of any sort so far, keeping my fingers crossed.

Is this an original Nokia official distributors set or is it AP set from CSL and gang?

Well, as defence for my lingering hope to aquire a Maemo phone here in Asia sweat.gif , I would say that those were not exactly phones but internet tablets, so its probably a reason that it MAY not appeal to everyone since most people are looking for a phone, not an internet tablet. Still, If Maemo 6 really does not launch here, at least we should have new Symbian^3 phones by next year. thumbup.gif

Exactly, the previous devices were not GSM capable and cannot be considered as phones.

Even te price argument doesn't make sense to me because Nokia brings Nokia Carbon Arte and Nokia Gold Arte to Malaysia without any fuss... and those phones are MYR5,000+

Also I read that Asia is Nokia's 2nd largest market, so I don't see why Nokia has to withhold such a device from this market.

But one thing though, N900 does not have default support for East Asian Languages, so Mandarin script (along with 1.3 billion people) are out the door lol... I guess this can be fixed with a quick language pack update, but it seems from this move not to include east asian languages, Nokia has other plans for N900 and Asia... which is strange.

wow, singapore got liao, when coming 2 Bolehland ah?

Continuing from the above, I read CNET Asia yesterday where one of their "Senior Writers" said that the N900 will not retail in Singapore.

But now that our dear forummer here has purchased his N900 from there, I wonder what's happening.
