different headphone, different frequency response / tuning.
some are tuned to bring out frequencies related to footsteps / gunshots, ie. more mids, so they sound clearer with less bass to get in the way.

how far are u into cod4? got play competitions?
lets say for a smaller map like Crash, its possible to hear ppl jumping off from buildings and landing from far away.
so if u cant, then its time to change ur headset.
then again, better sound is just to complement the skills u already have...ur definitely not going to attain godmode

well im sure your ath-500 headphones is good enough for good sound positioning in games.
afterall, gamers have been surviving with stereo sound for donkey yrs before 5.1 and even 7.1 became popular.
better work on ur skills first la...aiming / reaction / anticipation / etc...
then once u reach a certain level...u may start wishing u had more accurate sound positioning like how far / how high / how low etc...then only go get a better headset.
but if ur like blacktrix and just want it for the sake of uhh wanting it...then i guess nothing can stop u from getting the megalodon

money not an issue then just get the megalodon.
keyboard is always secondary, as long as the ones in the cafe dont jam its good enough.
i've only ever brought my keyboard once only to lan sessions, its usually just my headset + mouse + mat + armadillo

well, how often have u gone to lan tournaments?
it is irritating having the mouse cable drop behind the table edge til there is no slack in the cable causing drag on the mouse.
u can put something heavy on the end of the cable so it wont move to give it some slack, but there is still drag cos most of the cable is on the mat.
thats why armadillo and mouse bungees are designed so that the cable is higher, giving it somewhat a feel of a wireless mouse.

thats why the megalodon has an option to use 2.0.

yea megalodon is usb only, so wont work with AC-1 which also seems to have been discontinued.

i think u dont understand why megalodon is made

if u already got a good soundcard with 7.1, then just get any good standalone headset.
get megalodon only if your soundcard sux or its on-board, and you want good surround sound or if you travel abit and want the same sound quality wherever you go.

if u downgrade from maggi to gardenia...maybe will have enough money to buy megalodon.

was actually announced more than a yr ago, but til now obviously not out yet.

i still use my shure scl-2 over my razer m100 or moray+.
soundwise there is a little fight, but construction wise the shure wins hands down...the razer wire is just too thin for my liking.

your problem is you didnt read up enough on the orochi
if you cant pair with the bluetooth, then connect the mouse with the usb cable.
