Try avoid putting the phone in the bathroom because accidents does happen. Like mine my Nokia 6600 while i was showering a call came in. Vibrate vibrate and it was shock the phone drop from one corner flew to the other corner and drop into a basin fill with water for 5 sec.  I took it out immediately remove the battery. When u shake the phone u see water flying out. Imagine how scare i was.

After 2weeks of leaving it try. It works again but there was some minor malfunction like earpiece too soft, vibrate not strong.
For your scenario if u put your phone in the bathroom without hot vapor it wont be a problem.

Oh ok thanks guys. That must have been extremely lucky. I just don't want to void my warranty. My dot is still white so i hope its still good. I accidently left it in there with hot vapour but i had a fan running as well... it was also a bit more than a metre away from the shower so i hope that all is good/ smile.gif

Please help.....

Why my E71 keep connecting itself to the wireless network without my permission. I need to go to the menu>connectivity>connection manager>active data connection to shut the connection down manually. But every time i shut the connection down, after few minutes, it will automatically connect back.

Then, I switch my profile from general to offline. The strange thing happen... This time it pops up with a message which stated "create WLAN connection in offline mode?". I need to press "No" to cancel it. However, this message comes back again after few minutes.

This problem makes my phone battery drain very fast and it is extremely annoying. Is it virus infected? Please.... I really need help in this.

Oops... I dun think I have Nokia Email. I search through the phone also didn't find this program. What program could it be that causing this problem? I really do not want to go to the last resort which is restore to factory settings.

i just found out about this neat tool: iON BatteryTimer for S60 3rd v1.03 by Capree Mobile. check out: http://www.capree.com/ for the software.

It gives 9days trial and costs about $7 for a full version. I'm sure that won't stop you from trying this neat tool out.. brows.gif

Anyway its a battery indicator and really useful for us who are always concerned with our E71 battery status.

emmm there's a lot to troubleshoot in this case..maybe try the below:-

1. Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > Wireless LAN > Show availability (Set to never)

2. if you have WLAN at your active shortcut, "switch WLAN scanning off". if you don't go to step 3.

3. Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Personalization > Home screen > Mode Settings > Home screen applications > Enabled Applications > check Wireless LAN. Once the shortcut available at home screen (active shortcut), go to step 2.

4. Go to email applications, find the network connections and change to "always ask" or disable automatic retrieval.

let us know if it works. biggrin.gif

well not tis 1.. seems pretty accurate.. if ur phone after restart go to 90% and drop to 30% after usage.. it mean ur battery is due .. hmm.gif sudah sampai masa utk cari bateri baru..
the point of using tis software is jus tat u can hav a hint when ur battery gonna go flat.. some people not very good at estimation so they need it.. for those for r good at it.. will think it as useless.. icon_idea.gif

My point is how accurate is it? or it just estimate base on battery bar left

it is installed in to the phone not memory card.. it utilize the core processor of the phone more less like the battery indicator in ur laptop. if u stay static the time remaining in ur battery go back to those at standby current(voltage) if u r utilising ur phone for cals, sms, surfing the voltage usage surge up hence givin a lower reading in the time remaining.. more or less like those in nokia energy profiler..

unsure.gif aih? why so fast? mine comes up with "calculation in progress..ion needs the standard battery indicator to drop 2 bars to provide first estimation"

is it u use ur phone so much, the battery drop so fast is it? tongue.gif

anyway most ppl say the indication will be very accurate after 2 full cycle charge...so this app IS NOT your standard battery indicator.. tongue.gif it really calculates ur battery level..

I think the culprit should be another application (image exchange) that i installed recently. As i set the primary access point as my house wireless network, so it keeps connecting on its own even without me inserting the pre-share key. Now, I change the primary access point to "not used". So far, the problem is not resurface yet.

Somehow, it is quite strange since I install this program in my memory card. I've tried to eject my memory card last nite to spare me from this annoying problem. But it is still connecting on its own.

Can anyone who install nokia image exchange verify this problem with me?
