I was trying to Oc my I7 860 to 3.8ghz. btw..my ram using corsair xms3 2gb x2..so, how far this ram can go? I still newbie with the oc things..how to tweak the ram more efficient? In bios, ram frequency dont have 1600, only 1440, 1800 and above..which one should i choose?
my setup will be 180bclk x 21 @3.78ghz

QUOTE(Rojak44 @ Dec 17 2009, 10:38 AM) then you should not have any problem running it @1440. try run memtest 1st before running prime95 after you adjust the timing and voltage. refer Here for overview of ram timing. i got test prime95..after 20min..nothing error..idle temp is 44-46, max temp is 86 using prolimatech hsf..btw..can it go 1800?

QUOTE(Rojak44 @ Dec 17 2009, 11:09 AM) im not pro in RAM overclocking, but i can tell that it depends on your ram chip, cooling or setting whether u can reach 1800 or not. u can try though by adjusting timing and voltage,my DDR1333 seems to struggle even at DDR1600 which only last around 2 hour on prime95 before getting error but stable on memtest and IBT(10 loop@2047MB ram utilization). whats your vcore anyway? your temp are very high. vcore should be 1.278. i think the temp will reduce if use better fans..im using noctua fan at low speed..800-1000rpm only

i just want to ask to Asus mobo users... Im using P7p55d and did some oc.. however, i notice the temp is quite high..what is the maximum temp for mobo? I got 1 cosmos S casing where i believe the airlflow is worst..where the mobo temp is 45-50 for idle..and if full load, will going 80.. using I7 860 @ 3.6ghz.. ..may i know what is the max temp for the mobo?

QUOTE(Vigilant @ Jul 26 2010, 08:32 PM) Usually I'll use small fft for CPU only stress and then blend for CPU-RAM stress. Small fft test will stress your cpu temperature hotter than the blend test. ya, i do notice tat small fft is hotter lot.. so, how long to stress cpu and ram consider stable?
