Load temp is 66C.

I could go stable with 4.18GHz, but load temp will increase to 77C and 1.36v Vcore is needed. Decided to go with 3.99GHz (current) since I prefer not to exceed 75C on load. sweat.gif

Nope. I just bought Zalman CNPS10X yesterday. Believe it or not, at default speed (3.2 GHz) my i3 load temp is 85C using stock cooler. That scared the shit out of me so I immediately go to lowyat yesterday and bought new cooler.

u didn't press in the push pins properly? rclxub.gif
My i5 760 at 3.2 also 70 max on stock cooler...

Why my i5 760 4.0ghz throttles the mulitplier at 74 max? I am running 1.2875 in BIOS with LLC on... issit my HSF seating problem? That is with LinX
20x200 multiplier

OCCT can run at 67 max... why LinX so hot sweat.gif

A little help here...coz I really don't like the throttling and my voltage is the lowest notch that is stable on LinX.. one notch lower and it fails LinX or BSOD

I just noticed eventhough running OCCT max at 67, it still throttles... what is going on rclxub.gif

Reseated the HSF... seems to be promising.. upon start up showing 36*C on the 1st core... now slowly boiling it with folding... later will try to push it to 4.0 without any throttling rolleyes.gif

LoL. more better cooling with extra fan. u have no idea how hot it is for your proc when reach 4GHz. Vcore maybe 1.35 and above.
*
I can keep it under 1.35 for 4.0...but it throttles..means too hot already...but 75 only at LinX
around 1.28 can already
Hey..my processor throttles at 73 max...can I off the Intel TM? I can't get it at 4.0 constant sweat.gif

off all thermal settings

I gave up. Currently running 160 bclk with speedstep and turbo mode on... Suprisingly if below 4.0 the voltage is very low...currently 1.136V in CPU-Z with p95 running.
Save some power as well brows.gif

I am curious because I am running 1.407v on my msi P55 GD65 with an i5-750 at 3.8Ghz (200x19) and a VTT of 1.361v. Is the setting allright for continuous use or i should raise the VTT and lower the vCore? The temps are quite low, around 75C with my Hyper 212+.
*
weather getting hotter and hotter... My GPU keep speeding up the fan and lowering it back sweat.gif
I think your voltage is too high for 3.8ghz only

The Vdroop happens in LinX more noticibaly. It only drops to 1.360v in p95. And is p95 stable enough? Or I need to pass the LinX test too?
*
P95 is normal stability testing. IMO I think LinX is very fast and also pushes the proc to generate more head than P95 can... LinX pushes my 3.5 OC to 62C in 20minutes... Prime95 only can push to 57 after more than an hour

Yes it is.In fact,Core i3 is the most overclockable CPU for the 1156 socket. It can reach 4.0 Ghz and above easily with CPU cooler.
*
I wonder how well it will do in the LGA1155 socket... i7 so easy go to 5ghz... i3? brows.gif
forgot...SB can't OC without K series doh.gif

*edit* it seems like going to have a K series i3 shocking.gif
