Hey gurus, I got a motherboard choice question.
I'm looking for a good OCer board that is not too expensive and support SLI. Which choices do I have that hopefully gives good OC performance while below RM 550(preferably <500)
I've found a few but most seem to support CF only
msi p55-gd65
biostar p55 t5-xe cfx-sli

are there other boards in this price range and which will OC the best?
thank you.

Currently running an MSI P55 GD65 bios 1.9 mobo with an it 760(hyper 212+ stock fans + ) and team 1333 9-9-9-24 ram. Been trying to OC it for a few days

Followed the i3/5/7 OC guide (3 time IBT stable then increase)
Lowest cpu multi (X9) and other ratio max bclock at 215 (VTT 1.2) didn't go higher voltage yet
max ram 762mhz (190*4) vdram 1.65

Here's what i got so far
So I've oced the rig to 3.8Ghz stable with power savings & spread spectrum off at these settings
Memory Ratio 4
QPI ratio 16
bclock 190
multiplier 20
Memory Setting manual (but all stock settings) 9-9-9-24 88 1T
vcore 1.17 (fail linpack Max if reduce by 0.01)
vtt 1.203 (Fail linpack if reduce by 0.01)
dram 1.651
low vdroop
Did some testing to find lowest voltage, these settings are 7 hours OCCT blend stable at 60C. Intel burn test (IBT) Max 5 runs 65 or higher depending on fan speed setting i think.

How are my settings
Trying with all power savings @3.8ghz on for now. Will stress test when i go to bed later. HW monitor indicates a large drop in wattage with them on smile.gif
Just now tried vcore 1.22 190x21 fail linpack, no time to try 4ghz since 3.8 is good enough performance and temp biggrin.gif.

One gripe i have is my memory wont reach windows at 1600mhz (bclock 200). Tried VTT 1.22 vdram 1.65 at above settings with BSOD.
How should i try to tighten my timings or increase the frequency. Should i try a higher bclock and see if ram reached bclock hole?

hye guys here ..

im new in Intel

may i know what setting to disable Idle mode?

mean i want every second my clock will runing at just one speed ..

my spec as u can see at my sign

Disable EIST C1e Cstate/step , might be different for other mobo

Added on October 19, 2010, 11:30 pmI tried going for high bclock while aiming for tighter memory timings..
Because my ram stubbornly against 1600mhz! 195x4 also won't reach windows

4.0 210x19 was ok for 3x IBT but temps going 75C max ...
3.8ghz 211x18 was similar to current setup but slightly lower vcore.. Don't notice difference in temp maybe 2C higher

However fail to enable EIST, I think its sensitive to the high bclock.
Since power saving cant be turn on, going back old setup

Don't think I'll up the OC too much without memory/HSF upgrade, maybe focus on GPU OC...
Need to fine tune memory timings using old timing stated above

Anyone have similar setup to compare?
Thanks

8-8-8-24-88-1t

vcore - 1.15
vtt - 1.25
vdimm - 1.62

trying to hit 200bclk...run memtest 1600 8-8-8-24 no problem...but in linx, 2nd round sure die.... try hitting vtt to 1.37 oso fail.... y ar? shit...

maybe try lowering memory multiplier and cpu since ur trying to find mobo's bclock limit
not all boards can reach high bclock.. depends on luck too
like this review http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/gi..._p55aud4p/8.htm
ud4p reach 207, ud6 only reach 190

I am curious because I am running 1.407v on my msi P55 GD65 with an i5-750 at 3.8Ghz (200x19) and a VTT of 1.361v. Is the setting allright for continuous use or i should raise the VTT and lower the vCore? The temps are quite low, around 75C with my Hyper 212+.

Looks like ur vcore is quite high.. mine is 1.17 in bios at 2 pages back
Using same 212+ but with extra R4-C2R-20AC-GP instead of another blademaster(expensive)
65C only at max fan, around 68C at ear safe settings if i remember correct
