u need a really good mobo and a really good proc to do that.

and the vtt and vcore would cause so much heat that u need a really good cooling solution to keep it stable.

It seems I can't go more than 1.5 VTT... Can't boot, I just can do 4.05GHz 225x18 at 1.45 vtt & 1.4 vcore. Prime blend stable. Trying to lower em voltages. Any recommendation on good mobo that can pull off that 250 bclk trick? And what is the suggested QPI when running 225 bclk? I just pick the lowest currently.

The H55 works fine and if you google, many people easily clock their i3 to 4Ghz+ with those board smile.gif

Why not? matx can clock as good as atx.
The size of the mobo is not an issue.

many reviews out there showed that H55's are pretty decent for the price. they still can oc to 4ghz just fine. so why not.
from tomshardware : http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/h55-h5...board,2555.html
9 boards with a mixture of atx, matx and mini itx. (unfortunately they only compared H55 & H57 boards)

another one from anandtech :

Actually I don't quite understand because most modern boards can easily get you a decent overclock smile.gif What are your expectations like? If you're looking to max out everything, overclock that i5 750 or i7 860 to 5Ghz, etc then maybe you want to spend on a better board. If you're just an average overclocker that wants your chip to run faster for day to day use, I really don't see a problem with the H55.

I WANT TO SEE THE REVIEW OF USING MATX BOARD THAT OC-ING QUADDDDDDDDDDD COREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE LIKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I5 750............. Understand ur concern yeepi. But by logic, there shouldn't be any issues.
If the board is gud, then it doesnt matter if it's single/dual or quad core. That shud be a cpu problem or limitation alrdy.
But dun take my words, i'm just saying based on my experience & readings. And it just happens that most H55/H57 boards were reviewed with dual core i3/i5 only.
hehe.
* i'm using H55M + i5 750 too .. smile.gif ..haven't OC kaw kaw. just using a cheap value rams + hyper212+ cooler only right now. I think can reach 3.8GHz.

Please don't use so many repeat and caps words. It is very impolite. shakehead.gif (I apologized if you suffering Parkinson's disease whistling.gif )

BUY ASUS Maximus III Gene!! Guaranteed 1000% satisfy.

If you cannot afford, just choose the cheapest m-ATX 5 series chipset as your mobo, low budget deserve low OC gain.

Share your review here since nobody at the well known tech site is going to use budget m-ATX mobo to OC such a good processor. yawn.gif
