QUOTE(Bonchi @ Dec 23 2009, 05:41 PM) ah .. i forgot bout that.. prolly it did cause tempts to go higher.. my cooler is sunbeam core contact freezer ... with some simple DIY mod on the mounts to fit the LGA1156 nice.. i hv use this cooler before.. but it is more nicer if we can put 2 fan on it ..

Yes in generally To be more specific,it depend on motherboard, bios, memory timing, uncore etc all play a part in affecting performance If given all the factor are same then yes

try this setting... cpu ratio - 21 bclk - 190 Dram freq - nearest ur ram stock speed Qpi freq - i choose d lowest.. Vcore - 1.35v IMc - 1.2 Dram - 1.6 PLL - 1.8
and d rest i leave it auto... good luck!!

i use CM Hyper 212+ with push and pull setup...
u can use stock HSF but make sure u dont exceed 1.2vcore (IMHO)... and try to make sure d airflow is right...

OC-ing the i5 is a piece of cake lol... just turn off turbo, slap vcore to 1.4v.. lowest ram multiplier.. lowest QPI multiplier.. and push the BCLK slowly to find the sweet spot.. of course you need a good cooler to do that.. i dont think the hyper 212+ is really up for that task, but the sunbeam CCF made it to 4.4ghz (220X20) at the load of 75-80C but of course 3.2ghz is good enough for everyday usage... lower electric bills... i even lower the voltage to 1.20 and made it run on 3ghz to make it save even more!

but my proc on 4ghz still maintain under 80c for core 2-4... oni core 1 reach 83c... and d vcore is 1.35v...hehe and ya, 3.6ghz is d sweet spot for energy saving and appropriate to cater most ppls needs nowadays...huhu
