I was trying to overclock Intel i3 530 too but i dont dare to overclock it to 4.4Ghz as i dont hav any chassis fan.Might do 3.6Ghz.I am using Gigabyte motherboard.

And yea,to get 3.6Ghz,must i set the multiplier to 22x and Bus Speed to 164Mhz?Can i do it with multiplier 20x and Bus Speed 180Mhz?

How long should i stress test using Prime95?Some say 2 hours is sufficient as more hours will harm the hardwares.But some says 24 hours as the overclocking might get unstable.Btw,how do i know whether the stress test is successful anot?If failed,the pc will reboot?

But when i open Prime95,there r 3 modes.Which 1 should i choose?And how should i know whether the overclocking is stable anot?

Rams were running stock voltages when i ran it @ DDR1600..Just wonder why @ 4ghz the rams are not even able to achieve 1400mhz. Is it due to the mobo not able to supply enough power?

based on that article for p55 UD7, what is "Bios Vcore" shows on the overclocking table? do you have it on p55 ud6? and what is your current or default skew for both pch/mch? and also clock amplitude?

Indeed.But then 8 minutes of Intel Burn Test or Linx is like 20 hours of Prime 95.For safety measure,run both 

i test run prime95 juz now,runing around 1 hour..no prob..but test run intel burn,fail...is tat mean no stable??

hi fren wanna ask ur p55 ud6 using latest bios?core i3 got spread spectrum ENABLE and DISABLE option in bios?im using ud6 with i7 860 cant seem to find the setting to disable it?before this im using msi gd65 no problem finding the option then on gigabyte uiks weird dun have pulak..ayak...

Hey, im just curious whether is there such thing as the processor becomes weaker in overclocking after a few months / years time ?    For example, now I can run it at 4ghz but in a few months time I will not be able to run it 4ghz stable due to degradation of processor.

new i5 member reporting..just get new cooler and start to learn oc my proc,me still new in the intel i series..

i manage to hit 3.6ghz with 1.28v and do prime test,but after 1 hour the prime stooped working,like the program crashes..but linx 20 loop passed nicely.

so ,is it had sumthing to do with stability of my proc or...?
googled and find same prob but they mention on vista OS..

mybe bro..because out of 5 memtest, 1 memtest showing an error and stop working..but suppose if the uncore not stable bsod shud happen rite?

did u increase the imc V?supposedly ur GT shud be able to reach 2150mhz with cl8(so jealous looking at this rate,based on bro hengmy ram OC result)

mine need 1.36 v on imc to make 2000mhz cl8 stable.
i just tested 2 board only, GD 80 and this M3G.

hengmy is using Dom GT CMG kit which is better at overclocking than my CMT kit
