Added on January 14, 2010, 4:38 amabout the same timings i had with my i7 860 @ 4.0ghz with stock ram settings. so i hope with better rams can shave off a minute plus..

Bonchi: haven't tweaked anything yet. this weekend la i'll do it.

tech_frix: will fine tune later on.. not quite sure what vcore to get it to boot, bantai jer. running on corsair H50 with 2 fans push pull setup. as i'm getting good temps for this proc i find no need to setup a WC system. save alot of cash there, can buy my ln2 pot. =)

sup3rfly: whats the highest bclk that you could boot at? could u try 250blck x 16?

kino: ko try dulu la.

sup3rfly: owh. same thing happened with my i7 so i sold it off. i tried booting up at 220bclk but i guess not setting the right voltages.

tech_frix: sell it n buy an i3. lol!

i guess the i3 is good value for money as the price is as much as a used e84 and performs better. even with value ram on 32m is 2 minutes better than c2d.

temp was at 43c idle, load of 40% at 51c. didn't prime it.

ezzy: nope. ur settings cannot boot for my proc. thinking of buying the h55-ud2h. seems like a good mobo.

antonio: bought from ALL IT lyp earlier for RM 399.

ezzy: rm 399

tech_frix: the g.skills not so easy to tune. took 3 hours to shave off from 10m 20s i3 @ 4.0ghz to 9m 20s. now got new mobo gonna try tomorrow.. running on the intergrated graphics so can only support up to ddr 1666.

QUOTE(goldfries @ Jan 19 2010, 01:53 PM)
done near 4ghz with i3-530 and the results are soooooooooooooooo far away from i5-750 / i7-860 for 32m SPI. arggghh.

there's advantage in the dedicated core per thread and more cache.
*
but its got a lot to do with the ram. my 32m score is tied with my previous i7.

not at this speed. actually can. but i must sacrifice on QPI. which i don't want. coz lower the qpi, my 32m score becomes worse. so i don't find any point in sacrificing qpi.

the guy in 2nd place sacrificed qpi for 4.88ghz but running his rams at 1333mhz only even tho he's running 2000mhz ripjaws.

http://hwbot.org/community/submission/9463...9min_0sec_203ms

he also sacrificed 2nd core and ht. mine is still on. biggrin.gif
