o....is it....thanks for that info anyway......

hm.......i'll try and monitor it and c.....else....3320 is my best oc speed for that i5 750 ...><...hehe

but...like that.... is it ok to down clock the ram speed lower than stock 1333?....hm... which 1 better?.. stick the ram speed at 1333 or lower the ram speed with pump my my current bclock abit( lower than 200Mhz)....?....hehe
*
Lower than 1333mhz then u should tighten ur timings. If it's elpida u should be able to run 9 9 9 24 or 9 9 9 26 for 1600mhz. But make sure u can pump 1.65 vdimm. Else if below 1333 8 8 8 22 or 7 7 7 21 should be possible. Ram timing really not that important when ur tryin to aim for overclock coz usually u try to get a stable clock 1st then only tighten ur ram timing. Some people use lower ram clock so u can ensure the pc stability is not hindered by ur rams.

ops.... forgot to update....
i check ord...it just written "kingston" and some numbers on the chip.. no elpida words....i assume it's not the elpida chip...coz when i tune the ram speed to 1600 and timing to 9 9 9 27 1.65Vdram....it start to be unstable....
actually the ram default ord run the timing at 9 9 9 24 (1333M)....hm.........

at the end i stick the bclock to 166 so that the ram speed at 1333....and just on the turbo mode so the ratio able to hit 21 (166*21=3489Mhz) which is still not too bad tough....sleep.gif....hehe
anyway...my Vcore at this point will be 1.2175 while the measure voltage at CPU-Z and HW monitor is around 1.23V...

that's the best i can go...XD

If bclk 200 then ur ram will be around 1200 not sure if there's 1400 ?. U can try to get higher mhz for ur cpu 1st then only tune ur ram is up to u to pick which u wanna tune 1st. If 9 9 9 27 can't then u can try higher like 9 10 9 27 or 26. I tried b4 using juz kingston chip it can still work if they r elpida or micron rebadge.

For 3.5 ur vc is juz 1.2175 mebe u can hit quite high for 1.3 or mebe 1.275. Just need to keep on trying and trying stressing till ur happy. But for me once I found my high then i juz downclock it for daily use as 2.2 or 2.4 is more than enough for my daily use. I even game wif 2.4 usually unless I feel lag then only I up the processor. Sometimes I actually wonder if we need higher than 3ghz for normal use. But it's really a big diff if u do decoding or encoding for video or processing data as it's quite time saving.

Guys
I really need some help with my system...
sad.gif
i m using P7P55 EVO + i5-750 aircooled with MegaShadow.
Vengeance 1600 RAM 8GB.
I manage to OC until 3.4GHz.
running all the test and all is ok.
Even playing games there's no problem.
But when leaving it idle...sometimes even for a short time...
it will get a BlueScreen error.

Ive used the OC'ers error code guide and do the suggested, it still happens.

Currently running at 3.46GHz@1.28v.

Usually the error will be 1e. 124 or 101. Sometimes the code is not even in the list! cry.gif

Help plz?

Did u install newest bios ? Drivers ? (Intel INF, Storage, sound, graphics card,) Turn off all c3, c4, c5 or any c power saving stuff, intel power saving stuff in bios. Btw for ur setup u should be able to hit 4ghz with proper settings.

nice KVR you got there rclxms.gif
even some 'perf ram' need 1.65V to run 1600 at such tight timing 7-8-7 nod.gif

its ok if you can keep the temp below 70'C during load/ stress test
is this stock voltage? or auto voltage? try push higher clock brows.gif

4ghz even on air is not a problem on the i5 750/760.. to go beyond that is tricky tho.. 70-80C max load still fine .. just dont push it 24/7 haha cuz normal applications there's no chance that the CPU will go max load like during those cpu test

i lama tak main OC already hahaha.. pakai stock clock but reduced voltage (hopefully can jimat electric)

reviving this old thread.

Any bros here with results to share for i5-760? Just recently got a bunch of 2nd hand hardware and pieced them together.

The performance and price is unbeatable. Got my i5-760 2.80GHz stable @ 4.0GHz without much effort. More to come!

To do any reasonable overclocking, i suggest u get an affordable aftermarket cooling. The weather in Msia is unforgivable smile.gif
