I think this might be in the sticky, but i am really unsure of this. Right now i just got my Iphone 3gs from Maxis. Now basically i read in the forums that it is unlocked. Now when i got the phone today, it the agent said we are unlocking your phone right now or something. Ahh my questions is since i am very new to this OS of phones and i am like a baby here, would i still need to jailbreak it in order for Cydia to work properly or could i just install Cydia alone? Still unsure.

Why would you want to Jailbreak? All Maxis sets, and I presume it's a Maxis set. It's already carrier unlocked. Mind sharing what you plan to do?

If you buy from Maxis, all the Iphone is unlocked and you dun have to used any type of unlocking software like Cydia or to jailbreak the Iphone. If you not sure and wants to get more info about the Iphone, call the Maxis number of goto any Maxis store to check with them for more further details.
Once you have the Iphone from Maxis, you can used it straight without any futher jailbreaking or unlocking, or else it would void the warranty.
