what is the substrate? gardening soil? i thk is ok... or alternatively, as recommended you can get coco fiber or coco peat from nursery nearby ur place. we choose coco fiber as it holds moisture well... but since your smithi just need moderate humidity, so that wont be a problem as long as the soil you use is zero-pesticide, zero-chemical fertilizer n zero-pest... just bake the substrate to kill those pest.

For the substrade, i use potting soil and forest bark its 80% of potting soil and 20% of forest bark. When i look closely, i can see a very tiny thing crawling at the soil. Is it pesticide?? Btw, thanks for ur advice and useful tips icon_rolleyes.gif
