nope, there was some sort of 'heat wave' two weeks back, my room was directly facing the sun without any blinds, windows and doors were closed, so the thing just sort of overheated to death. only played it for 15 minutes before I went out, and when I came back, it was already dead. the 'heat wave' wiped out my computer's graphics card as well.

no difference, just that it seems to run hotter than usual. am considering a PSU mod soon.

Towel trick?!
Are you waiting for the exchange date from M$ SG?
Or you are not planning to go change it from M$ and try to fix the problem via the towel trick.
If your intention is the latter one, then i think you are in for a big mistake.

What kind of bullsh!t is that.
It doesnt matter how long you work your console if the proper fix was done to it.
The fix is more to able to fix or not.
There is no much effect on playing time.
The more your console is turned on, the more healthier it is.

really? now I'm in a dry stage, not playing the box much coz of exams and part-time work. I do turn it on once every few days just to give it a run.

the problem is, sometimes I forget to turn it off and leave it on for almost 24 hours doh.gif no affect on the reliability whatsoever?

that happens when the 360 is sharing the same display as your computer and is placed quite close to it.

ventilation no problem, the box is in an open area smile.gif

the box is doing fine so far, it 3ROD'd once when playing the last stage of DMC4 a few weeks back though, just crashed and then 3ROD appeared. after that I gave it a reset and no more.. even about 2 hours of Dead Rising also no problem.

maybe it's just a one-off recurrence.. should be okay right?

I owe it to you that my box is running fine today thumbup.gif

oh shoot I got 3ROD when playing Lost Odyssey just now, and it's okay after a reboot.

PMSing?

@Virgil

can my machine be repaired a second time in case of another occurrence of perma-3ROD?

zzz mine is hanging all over the place but not 3ROD-ing yet. early symptoms I believe.

not the drive right? as long as the drive can read the disc I don't think it's a problem.

well I'll stick to my word -- if it fails again, try and fix it again, if perma-3ROD then I'll wait until Jasper or Valhalla then get another machine.

hate playing Russian Roulette every time I boot up my machine.
