davidgary73,

I have a SingTel iPhone 3G on Maxis. Push used to work but after jailbreaking, it stopped working. Any help appreciated.
*
I JB'ed mine and it's working fine. All you need to do is to download an App with push. Launch the app and it will ask you to enable Push. Then you'll get the Push Notification in iPhone Settings. Enable it.

Push notification eh?

Doesn't really impact me for now, but I'm sure it'll be sorted out. HOW do you tell if it's not working btw?
*
Download eBuddy as eBuddy has push notification. Launch the app and it will ask you to enable Push. Then you'll get the Push Notification in iPhone Settings. Enable it.

Sign in your MSN etc. Set log off time to 30 mins or less. Quit and see if you receive any notification.

eBuddy is free via AppStore.

iPhone Generation : 3GS
Unlocked? (or Part Number): Unlocked by Vodafone Australia
Current Firmware : 3.0
iTunes Version : 8
PC/MAC : PC
Jailbreaking software : NA
Problem Encountered : Bought this phone in Australia. Came back to msia for holiday, I can make outgoing calls but not receiving calls, no prob with sending or receiving sms. I'm with maxis, and it just says "the number u have dialed is not reachable", then I'll receive a msg from maxis telling me that there's a missed call. Actually happens to my other oz phones also.
Steps Taken So Far : Setting network to automatic, still not resolving the prob.
Screenshot of Problem(if applicable) : NA
Other Information/Remarks : NA

I noticed that as long as the "E" is displayed, i cant receive calls, and incoming sms will be delayed. No prob receiving calls when i just on my phone, when "E" is not displayed yet, such weird prob...

Hey, I'm new here and kinda need some help.... >_<
I recently upgraded my OS to the 3.0 one and on my iTunes, it is written that I have successfully unlocked my phone. Is that the same as jailbreaking my phone?

And another thing is, I disabled my 3g before I upgraded my OS by altering the settings.. (I found out how to do it through one of the threads here..) But it seems like after upgrading the OS, the 3g is enabled again.. I wanna disable it.. Any suggestions? I've read about bosspref and SBSettings but I have no idea how to use it..

Help pls! T__T

If your iPhone is Jb'ed, then proceed with the solution you found.

Refer to this thread on how to SSH: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=22057247

The sms.db is located @ var/Mobile/Library/SMS/SMS.db which is in your iPhone directory.

If you're on iPhone 3.0, the premission set for sms.db file is 777 or 755.

david,

ive edited the permission to 777. not working.

You tried setting the permission to 666 as you got from other source or 755? Other than that, the option to deleted the sms.db might help.

Maybe one last thing you can do. Use SBSettings and use the fix user permission option. Atleast the one last thing you can try before you flag the white flag.

If not, look for Hanxz to help you troubleshoot @ http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=826183&hl

I would trust Hanxz than any of the non iPhone guru's but it's your call mate.

Today, i change my celcom 3g simcard for the 3rd time but this time at diff celcom branch (shah alam, before twice at kajang)...
so far so good... thank god
hope that it stays ok...

ask the celcom officer...
he said that they know bout some of their customer 3g simcard have problem with i3G...
he told me that celcom simcard not actually 'match' (whatever he means) with i3G...

So to other bros that have similar prob.... you might solve your prob by changing your simcard... smile.gif

Have you tried doing this

QUOTE
For the sms.db, what you can try is copy out the sms.db from /private/var/mobile/library/sms. Once you backup the file to your hard disk, delete the sms.db in your phone. Try sending a test sms to someone or to yourself. If you can get the reply, then replace back the old sms.db to the /private/var/mobile/library/sms. That should retain the permission and all.
Try rebooting the phone after you delete the sms.db
