Use it in portrait mode? Seriously, if you are in landscape, how are you going to type your SMSes in portrait? Circus act? doh.gif

Lying on the bed on his side = the phone will be in landscape smile.gif

You obviously haven't been doing much texting on the bed lately! biggrin.gif

Then would it be so hard to actually sit up straight and SMS proper? You dont see me asking if I can have the SMS keyboard come out upside down when I'm exercising on the monkey bars, do you?

Once Apple start catering to ridiculous propositions such as these is when I finally give up on humanity itself for wanting to do things differently and more difficult when there is a blatantly obvious solution staring up on their faces. doh.gif

im on iphone 3.0 with iphone 3G, how to disable the landscape mode during sms?
*
Install SBsettings from Cydia on your iPhone 3G. Then install the Rotation Inhibitor from Cydia. Then you can disable/enable rotation from SBSettings. Unfortunately, it will also disable the rotating feature in Safari, iPod and such.

ayai, if i could suggest something to apple.

just put a blinking toggle in the settings, to turn off or on the accelerometer when it comes to sms, safari, notes etc.

then everyone will be happy with their iPhones!

True.
The fatest is to type in portrait mode.
Landscape is just for people who have big fingers. LOL

Guys,

If you were not informed, there's a competition on Mac+ iPod Discovery Week on AppleByte. Write up on why you are using a Mac, or why you wish to switch to a Mac, and win the following:

- Best entry: iPod Shuffle from Machines
- Second best entry: Cap, T-Shirt & thumb drive from Gameloft

Winners will be announced on the 4th of July 2009.

Here's the thread: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1075334

**My band will be performing too on the 4th at 5pm. So, will see you guys there if you're coming. There will be iPhone demo available too with Gameloft games etc.

Dude, iPhone speaker at the bottom part is NOT a stereo speaker as you may think of.
Please head to http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html to see it clearly. Left side is Speaker while right side is Mic.

I don't see the connection. You're tempted by the 3G-S so you're wondering if you should upgrade your 3G to OS 3.0? Uh ... it's free ... and can be jailbroken & unlocked already ... what possible reason is there for you to wait any longer?

You can use SBSettings (download from Cydia) to gain back some memory with Processes. Kill those background application like Safari, iPod, Mail etc with Processes or another option is to do a Respring(in SBSettings). You should be able to use your applications after.

You're good to upgrade but there's still minor bugs/glitches in 3.0. There will be a 3.0.1 which Apple will seed to correct these bugs. Your choice at the end of the day. Most of us are on 3.0 and pretty much enjoying the new addons on 3.0.

Hahahahha..i get this reply all the time when i asked forumers to install SBSettings. That's why is important to read the info before you install.

*SBSettings has no icons. To launch SBSettings, slide your finger at the statusbar where your time/carrier is located. This will launch the program.

The next option is to reboot your phone(you can use SBSettings to reboot). If the problem persist after reboot, then remove and reinstall the application again.
