Anyway i've tried both games, and while i was expecting to like HoN more, and rushed to get the key and client for HoN more first,
I think i will be playing more of LoL as a start.
I loved the graphics and smoothness of HoN, but was also disappointed that they did not go all the way and make the content more unique.
80%? of heroes/items were copied from Dota ( probably not a bad thing for most, and anyway since dota has so many heroes, i guess it is hard to create a hero with spells that do not overlap )
Maybe actual release will have more new heroes ?
HoN
+ Graphics
+ Smooth gameplay
+ some nice new features like balancing etc..
+ very faithful to DoTa
- very faithful to Dota
- newbies to the genre are probably going to need counseling after playing a few games ( because of other players )
- Steep learning curve for non-dota players
LoL
+ some persistence though minimal.
+ more unique content
+ easier learning curve ( dunno what to buy?.. just look at recommended items! )
- graphics ( not a fan of the silverfall-like graphics )
- Why do they have to have the html-like interface for lobbies etc.. seems a bit slow to me, maybe + for some so they can IM,surf..etc... in between games.
- nothing to do with the game, but is it just me or do ppl hardly communicate in this game ?
- balance issues? ( all my attempts to play support heroes were total failures.. )
- no "deny"ing, i guess they have theyre reasons
Anyway this is just my opinion and i will still play both games
